Apply one or more coats of GOLDEN Pastel Ground to achieve the desired tooth. On paper, use heavier weight stock to avoid buckling. Allow ground to fully dry before applying media. Color Additions Pastel Ground can be blended with GOLDEN Acrylic Paints to achieve colored grounds. However, add minimal amounts of color since all additions of paint to Ground will decrease the tooth. GOLDEN High Flow Acrylics and Fluid Acrylics blend easily into the ground without thickening the product. High Load Acrylics have the highest pigment load and therefore provide the most color in the least amount of paint. Unless transparency is desired, select paints that are inherently opaque, such as the Pyrroles or earth colors. This will allow lower additions as well. Wood Primer will block stains and seal porous surfaces to prevent colors from excessive soaking into the wood. Dilute with about 30% water to make a smooth and beautiful finish. Dry thoroughly for more than one day before overpainting with Acryl Gouache. Metal Primer: Used as an undercoat on metal with good water and weather resistance. Brush out directly or with about 10% water. Apply one or two coats as thinly as possible for the best results. Dry thoroughly for more than one day before overpainting with Acryl Gouache. Fabric Medium: Turner Fabric Medium allows you to use Turner Acryl Gouache on fabric. It works well with water-based acrylic paints. Modeling Paste Pastel: Water-based paste in white color with high viscosity, which enables opaque and matte impasto. It gives an elastic film after drying and a pastel tone when mixed with acrylic paint. Please note that it shrinks by approximately 40% after drying. Impasto of about 3cm thickness will take about 3 to 6 days to dry at an ambient temperature of 20 C thoroughly. Gloss Varnish: Turner Gloss Varnish can be used as a final gloss coat on a completed painting or as a mix-in medium with other acrylic paints. The varnish has a milky-white appearance but dries clear and creates a water-resistant film. When mixed with a significant amount of Acryl Gouache paint, it produces a glossy translucent effect. Retarder: Turner Retarder slows the drying time of acrylic gouache paints. The clear retarder forms a water-resistant film once dry. Slow drying time with Retarder, thin and extend acrylic color, and even Varnish Galeria works for final shine and protection. Galeria Extender - A highly economical medium, Galeria Extender increases volume of paint and maintains opacity. Color will dry to a matte finish. A great product for those on a limited budget. Galeria Flow Improver - Additive that loosens the surface tension of water within the acrylic paint, increasing the flow and allowing the application of areas of flat color evenly without changing the color strength. Increased flow is ideal for masking application, flowing gestural watercolor-like techniques, and “staining" applications. Should be used only in the amount needed to achieve the desired effect. Galeria Fluid Retarder - and additive for extending the drying and working time of acrylic colors. Small amounts (a few drops) will allow for extended blending and manipulation.
