The Gray Starter Set contains Titanium White (in safflower oil), Neutral Gray 3, Neutral Gray 5, Neutral Gray 7, and Lamp Black. Neutral Grays allow artists to adjust the value and chroma of any color without altering its base tone. The three Neutral Grays in this set range from number 3 (darkest) to number 7 (lightest). Along with Titanium White and Ivory Black, they produce balanced value gradations for color mixing and the creation of tonal grisaille paintings.
