Acrylic gouache is a hybrid paint combining opacity and a matte finish using an acrylic polymer binder with higher pigment load. It is more concentrated than most acrylics, with a beautiful velvety matte finish, fast-drying, opaque acrylic based watercolor paint. Unlike traditional gouache, which can be reactivated with water after drying, acrylic gouache becomes water-resistant once dry, similar to acrylic paint. This makes it suitable for layering without the risk of disturbing underlying layers. Similar to traditional gouache, which makes it less reflective and ideal for scanning or photographing artwork.
