The stretcher bars feature a reinforced structure comprised of wear-resistant, lightweight aluminum and sturdy Norwegian Spruce to provide a smooth, clean stretching bead, allowing ample room to back staple or nail your selected canvas or linen (with no edge ghosting). The system not only allows for tightening if needed with the Spanner hardware, but easily breaks down so that artwork can be rolled & tubed, with stretchers placed in a separate tube for ease of shipping. Lighter in weight than heavy duty wood stretcher bars, the Museo ALU Frame Stretchers provide a crisp, true-to-square system that is truly revolutionary in construction & what options it affords artists, especially those who ship larger work to galleries, collectors, & clients.

Cross bars can be added at any time without disassembling, and the system is so strong that no cross braces are needed on sizes up to 48" x 96"! The revolutionary extender allows for making virtually any stretcher bar size, which combined with cross bracing, becomes completely dimensionally stable. Easily modify work that is already stretched with this system, to ensure compliance with different museum and gallery per-requisites regarding bracing distances.
