Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paint - Titanium White, 237ml CanSave Up to30%Off list

White Handmade Master Quality Oil Paints - Manufactured In The U.S.A! Getting the proper pigment is just the beginning! So much of the quality of oil paint is in the grinding. Each color is ground to enhance the beauty and luminosity specific to that particular pigment. Some colors by nature will feel slightly gritty, others extremely smooth. For instance, Cerulean Blue will have a beautiful velvet, light-absorbing surface with an extremely strong covering power; Siennas, by comparison, are often chunky or gritty to allow light to travel through the vehicle, exposing rich golden or mahogany undertow instead of just heavy, dull browns. Pigments are ground in pure alkali-refined, ph balanced linseed oil, and made in batches no larger than 5 gallons at a time. This gives total control over the paint, much like late 19th-century French color makers. All materials are hand measured, and every ounce of paint is scrutinized. Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors are then packaged in 37ml and 150ml non-reactive aluminum tubes. Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors are used by the world’s finest artists, whose works can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MOMA in New York City, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Beaubourg in Paris. White Finest Quality Artists' Oil Colors Made and processed by the Blockx family in Belgium, still handground in the Blockx tradition with slowly rotating stone mills, our extra-fine artists' colors are made from the finest selection of pigments and oil. Only pure pigment is used for maximum lightfastness, buttery consistency and easy mixing on the canvas itself. All colors have a minimum lightfast rating 7 out of 8 on the blue wool scale. So they all can be considered perfectly lightfast. Iron oxides, earths and blacks are ground with linseed oil. All other pigments are ground with poppyseed oil which is well-known for its lack of yellowing and the non-forming of wrinkles at the time of the drying. As an oil colorist you deserve the very best colors to paint with. Blockx has been made in the same way in Belgium by family members for over 140 years. Today, Blockx is the oldest artist paint manufacturer continuously run and operated by a family. The story began when Jacques Blockx, a noted chemist, was asked by his artist friends to make reliable oil colors that would be permanent and extremely expressive. His formulas for permanent and lightfast colors are legendary and carefully guarded by the Blockx family today, who still test each batch of color to personally insure absolute quality and satisfaction. Indeed Blockx is a bit expensive, but these paints are worth every penny. An investment in Blockx is an investment in your art and truly one that will pay dividends in the future. Mixing: Pigments, oil, generally poppyseed oil, and specific ingredients are pre-mixed according to their particular nature to achieve the best paste for milling. Grounding: The paste is ground on a three roll mill made of stone rolls, to preserve the purity of paints, rotating at low speed to avoid heating. This operation is conducted 3 or 4 times-each time reducing the size of particles-allowing us to fill the tube immediately to preserve all the qualities of the paint. Test: Besides the long experience of the craftsman, numerous checks are made of particle size, consistency, drying time, density, and so more. A sample of each batch is carefully kept for years. White Artist Oils at The Best Value! Good color is vital for the success of the painter! Thick and Rich Color! Good color is vital for the success of the painter. Only oil colors that act like oil colors and provide for lasting and predictable results should be considered by any artist at any skill level. This artist range of colors is designed for all artists at all skill levels. It is particularly well loved by oil colorists that use lots of color seeking high performance and economy. SoHo Oils are slowly ground on triple roller mills allowing pure refined linseed oil to completely encapsulate the pigment for maximum luminosity and superb handling properties. Alkyd Medium enhances transparency and clarity of the paint. The color appears rich and intense. Cobalt Drier: The recommended drier for fine arts oil paintings. Add to oil painting medium in drops as opposed to adding directly to oil paint. Cobalt Drier is a powerful additive for oil paints and should be used sparingly. Test medium before applying it to an oil painting. Overuse may cause cracking of paint film when drying. Copal Painting Medium: has a resinous consistency perfect for glazing and wet-on-wet techniques. Copal painting medium is an oil paint additive that speeds drying time. This medium increases paint flow and imparts a high gloss and hardness when dried. Copal painting medium may cause yellowing or darkening of colors over long periods. Damar Varnish: A final varnish for oil painting that imparts a high gloss finish. Processed with pure gum damar, Damar Varnish protects oil paintings from dirt and scuffing. It contains copaiba, balsam, stand oil, mastic resin, alkyd resin, cobalt, and manganese driers. Pale Drying Oil: Accelerates drying time of oil colors. Consists of linseed oil and manganese drier. Poppy Seed Oil: An excellent quality, slow drying, purified oil that retards drying time. It provides superior color retention and resistance to yellowing. PreTested Linseed Oil: Linseed oil has several uses in oil painting. It can be used as a paint binder ingredient when mixing colors from powdered pigments, in oil painting medium recipes, and added directly to oil paints to make colors glossy and fluid. This oil is made from the finest quality purified alkali-refined linseed oil. Retouch Varnish: For brightening uneven areas of oil paintings. An excellent varnish for protecting pictures until the final varnishing. Stand Oil: A flexible, very heavy-bodied purified oil for use in preparing mediums—excellent resistance to yellowing. Sun-Thickened Linseed Oil: Sun-thickened linseed oil is heavier in body and can be appplied directly to paint or used in glaze mediums, clear varnishes and emulsions. It is an extremely flexible medium derived from purified oil and can be pre-diluted with turpentine, Grumtine or Pre-tested odorless thinner. The linseed oil lends an enamel-like quality to oil color. See More -

Winsor & Newton Griffin Alkyd Fast-Drying Oil Color - Titanium White, 37ml TubeSave Up to40%Off list
Starting At: 6.35
White Fast Drying Oil Colors Made with pigments and oil modified alkyd resin Griffin Alkyd is an oil color formulated from the same family of fast-drying resins that has been used by Winsor & Newton in producing Liquin and other mediums since the 1960’s. Each color reaches a touch-dry state in less than 24 hours, making them ideal for fast working while still offering the working and optical properties of oils. Their unique luminosity makes them perfectly suited for glazing, particularly when used in combination with Liquin. Compatible with conventional oils, Griffin Alkyd Oils have excellent flow properties and dry to a durable, semi-gloss hard film that will not yellow over time. Made with an alkyd resin binder that has been modified with a non-yellowing drying oil for optimum color retention, excellent durability, and rapid drying time. 48 oil colors is available in 37ml tubes. Titanium White is also available in 200ml tubes. Key Features:* 48 oil colors, available in 37ml tubes* Faster drying time than traditional oils* Dry to the touch in 18 to 24 hours* Genuine oil color* Can be thinned with traditional oil color solvents* Can usually be varnished in 30 days* No compromise on lightfastness, color strength, and selection* Speed of drying allows techniques such as impasto and glazing to be done in considerably less time* Classed as artists' quality because the grinding of pigments* Dries to a durable, semi-gloss hard film* Will not yellow over time Perfect For:* Fast working while still offering the working and optical properties of oils* Colors remain workable for 4-8 hours* Oil painting outdoors* Clean with mineral spirits* Non-yellowing drying oil for optimum color retention* Glazing, particularly when used in combination with Liquin * Because alkyd film is slightly less flexible and is faster drying than traditional oil color, application over oil or oilbar layers is not recommended. Alkyd is not intermixible with acrylics. Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Drying Oil Color Alkyds are made from a naturally derived vegetable oil that is polymerized. The result is a resin-like product that, when mixed with a solvent, is very similar to traditional linseed oil. The colours remain workable for 4 to 8 hours and are touch dry in 18 to 24. Consistent drying times across the range removes the usual restrictions that come with conventional oils, making it easier to overpaint, regardless of the colour upon the surface. Artist Review Great Product! "I work on commissions all the time that sometimes require a short deadline. I feel much more confident in getting them done and out in time while using these oils. You can also mix them in with regular oil paint and usually that will speed up the drying times as well. Usually they are completely dry in 24 hours!" See More -

Charvin Fine Oil Colors use a combination of the finest in traditional and modern pigments, bound with a blend of linseed and non-yellowing poppy oils, for a smooth, creamy consistency and vibrant color. The main difference between Charvin Fine Oils and Extra Fine Oil Colors is that the pigments in Fine Oils are milled for about half the time as those in Extra Fine: not quite as meticulously ground but still smooth and brilliant. The toxic and caustic pigments are also removed and replaced with modern, safe pigments of the highest quality and permanence. Elite Quality Paint! One of the most honored and time-tested recipes for oil color production Only the very finest pigments are selected for making Charvin colors. The color makers at Charvin expertly and slowly produce the oil color much in the same way that wine makers ensure that the product will have a true character and lovely finish. White Makes a strong, bright, non-absorbent foundation for oil paintings Gamblin Oil Painting Ground makes a strong, bright, non-absorbent foundation for oil paintings. Gamblin Ground is formulated from alkyd resin, titanium dioxide, and calcium carbonate – titanium dioxide gives opacity, while calcium carbonate gives tooth for strong adhesion. Gamblin Ground makes a brighter and less-absorbent ground layer compared to acrylic “gesso” – meaning that oil paint layers on top will better retain their color saturation. In addition, the lower absorbency allows for “reductive” underpainting techniques when painters need to wipe back to the white of the Ground. Key Features:* See video - Ground Application* Makes a strong, bright, non-absorbent foundation for oil paintings* Formulated from alkyd resin, titanium dioxide, and calcium carbonate* Brighter and less-absorbent ground layer * Oil paint layers on top will better retain their color saturation* Lower absorbency * Thicker than acrylic gesso* Can be applied on top of acrylic gesso Because the percentage of pigments is so much higher than in acrylic “gesso”, painters need only apply TWO coats of Gamblin Ground instead of the recommended four coats of acrylic. Fabric supports should be sized with PVA Size before applying Gamblin Ground. Also, Gamblin Ground can be applied on top of acrylic gesso for a brighter white, less-absorbent ground layer. Gamblin Ground is thicker than acrylic gesso, and requires different application techniques See More -

White Long Lasting Brilliance and Clarity in a Handmade Safflower Oil Paint - Reduces Yellowing! Going back to the earliest traditions of oil painting, Williamsburg offers 13 whites, blues, and other delicate transparent colors made with a far less yellowing safflower binder. Artists will find these invaluable for holding onto maximum clarity and brightness in the upper layers of their paintings. These colors are not recommended for underpainting or foundational layers within a painting, as safflower oil binder takes longer to dry and produces a slightly weaker film. Milled with the highest quality, expeller-pressed Safflower Oil, the line features Porcelain White as the only color of the line not offered in their Linseed-based oils. Porcelain White is a less brittle, semi-transparent alternative to Zinc White. As with all of Williamsburg’s products, their Safflower Oil Colors are painstakingly made by hand. Gamblin PVA Sizing 33.8oz, Artists' Oil Painting MediumSave Up to40%Off list
Starting At: 4.50
White True to historic working properties. Safer. More Permanent. Gamblin Oil Painting mediums offer a great deal more than simply extending oil colors. Mediums modify the working properties of oil color from the tube – from a fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Painting mediums also broaden the visual qualities of our colors – from increasing the transparency of paint layers, to creating a range of surface qualities, from high gloss to matte. Gamblin’s family of Galkyd painting mediums and Cold Wax Medium are formulated with Gamsol. We recommend only Gamsol for thinning these materials. Alkali Refined Linseed Oil - Processed from flax seeds. This linseed is the purest and lightest industrially produced variety. Cold Pressed Linseed Oil - Made from the first pressing of flax seeds without heat or chemicals of any kind. Cold Wax Medium - Made from natural white unbleached beeswax. Mix directly into colors. Cold Wax creates an ultra-thick, matte impasto. For greater shine and flexibility mix with Galkyd medium. "G-Gel" - Made from alkyd resin, Galkyd Gel is a colorless oil color additive that accelerates the drying rate of oil colors and enables artists to create thick transparent paintings with a moderate sheen. Galkyd Painting Medium - Alkyd based resin painting medium that thins oil paints and maintains a strong flexible paint film. Galkyd speeds the drying rate and is excellent for glazing providing an enamel like finish. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Galkyd Painting Medium Lite No.2 - This low viscosity alkyd resin painting medium is a good replacement for traditional damar/ linseed oil/ turpentine combination mediums. Galkyd Lite dries within about 3 hours to a subdued gloss, and will maintain your brush strokes. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Galkyd Slow Drying Medium - Especially formulated to thin oil colors and give painters extended working time. To use mix equal portions of medium with oil colors to paint wet for at least a day. Since this product should not be diluted you may want to purchase the larger size. Gamsol - Quality solvent and medium and for general oil painting. Gamsol is also an excellent studio and brush cleaner. Odorless Mineral Spirits -Gamsol is the safest solvent that allows oil painters to utilize all traditional painting techniques without compromise. Primary Uses for Gamsol - Thinning oil colors, Modifying painting mediums, Studio clean up.Gamsol is a petroleum distillate but all the aromatic solvents have been refined out of it, less than .005% remains. Gamvar - Conservation quality varnish for oil, acrylic and alkyd paintings. This resin varnish may be removed with a mild solvent and contains a UV stabilizer. Developed in association with the National Gallery of Art. Package makes enough varnish to cover 80 sq ft. Once varnish is applied surface will have a uniform gloss apperance. Neo-Megilp - When mixed into oil colors Neo-Megilp makes them richer and deeper and finished paintings have a luminous glow! Neo-Megilp will not darken or crack over time. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Oil Painting Ground - For strong, bright foundations of oil paintings. Requires only 2 coats. Formulated from alkyd resin, titanium dioxide and barium sulfate. Stiffer than traditional gesso. PVA Size - Use as a barrier size between linen or cotton canvas instead of rabbit skin glue. Remains flexible and won't yellow, shrink or swell. Poppy Oil - Poppy Oil's slow drying time may be useful for painters using "wet into wet" techniques. Adding 10% by volume poppy oil slows down the drying time of Gamblin Galkyd Painting Mediums. Rabbit Skin Glue - Gamblin's Rabbit Skin Glue is the traditional size for fabric support on panels. It seals porous fabric and isolates it from ground or oil paints. Stretching the canvas is easy, because the size shrinks as it dries. Safflower Oil- Gamblin's Safflower Oil is a pale, slow-drying oil. Safflower oil increases flow of oil colors and slows dry time. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount of Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying, low-viscosity painting medium. Solvent-Free Gel Medium - This unique, non-toxic blend of safflower oil and alkyd resin gives colors more flow and transparency, yet holds brushstrokes well. It has a moderately fast drying rate, increases gloss, and supports the broadest range of painting techniques with the least compromise across color, dry time, texture and mark-making. Contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. Solvent-Free Fluid Medium- Gamblin's Solvent-Free Fluid Mediumgives oil colors more flow and transparency, It has a moderately fast drying rate that increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, this medium is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. Stand Oil - Vacuum bodied heavy oil which can be used in painting and glazing mediums. Dries to an enamel like finish. Traditional Gesso - Gamblin's Traditional Gesso is a dry mixture of rabbit skin glue, gypsum, marble dust, and titanium dioxide. Paintings on gesso are more matte because of the high absorbency of traditional gesso. Wax Pastilles - Small beads of naturally white unbleached beeswax.* See More -

For oil primed canvases, zinc white is used as the first coat, bound with linseed oil; carefully applied to the glued linen with trowel-like knives. Then the canvas is sanded and a layer with a titanium white base is applied in the same fashion, then placed in a drying room for 3 days to air dry naturally. Double primed canvases undergo the same process again, as do additional primings. After the final coating is applied, the canvas is moved back to the drying room for 10 days. The finished canvases are then again carefully inspected one last time before they are place on rolls and stocked in the warehouse. There, the rolls are put into boxes or tubes for shipping. These stringent, painstaking steps create an archival, exceptional linen canvas worthy of your finest masterpiece!
