Long Lasting Brilliance and Clarity in a Handmade Safflower Oil Paint - Reduces Yellowing!

Going back to the earliest traditions of oil painting, Williamsburg offers 13 whites, blues, and other delicate transparent colors made with a far less yellowing safflower binder. Artists will find these invaluable for holding onto maximum clarity and brightness in the upper layers of their paintings. These colors are not recommended for underpainting or foundational layers within a painting, as safflower oil binder takes longer to dry and produces a slightly weaker film.

Milled with the highest quality, expeller-pressed Safflower Oil, the line features Porcelain White as the only color of the line not offered in their Linseed-based oils. Porcelain White is a less brittle, semi-transparent alternative to Zinc White. As with all of Williamsburg’s products, their Safflower Oil Colors are painstakingly made by hand. They are available from Jerry’s in 37ml and 150ml tubes.
