Fast Drying Oil Colors Made with pigments and oil modified alkyd resin
Griffin Alkyd is an oil color formulated from the same family of fast-drying resins that has been used by Winsor & Newton in producing Liquin and other mediums since the 1960’s. Each color reaches a touch-dry state in less than 24 hours, making them ideal for fast working while still offering the working and optical properties of oils. Their unique luminosity makes them perfectly suited for glazing, particularly when used in combination with Liquin. Made with an alkyd resin binder that has been modified with a non-yellowing drying oil for optimum color retention, excellent durability, and rapid drying time. Titanium White is also available in 200ml tubes.

Compatible with conventional oils, Griffin Alkyd Oils have excellent flow properties and dry to a durable, semi-gloss hard film that will not yellow over time. Made with an alkyd resin binder that has been modified with a non-yellowing drying oil for optimum color retention, excellent durability, and rapid drying time. 48 oil colors is available in 37ml tubes. Because alkyd film is slightly less flexible and is faster drying than traditional oil color, application over oil or oilbar layers is not recommended. Alkyd is not intermixible with acrylics.
Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Drying Oil Color
Alkyds are made from a naturally derived vegetable oil that is polymerized. The result is a resin-like product that, when mixed with a solvent, is very similar to traditional linseed oil. The colours remain workable for 4 to 8 hours and are touch dry in 18 to 24. Consistent drying times across the range removes the usual restrictions that come with conventional oils, making it easier to overpaint, regardless of the colour upon the surface.
Artist Review
Great Product! "I work on commissions all the time that sometimes require a short deadline. I feel much more confident in getting them done and out in time while using these oils. You can also mix them in with regular oil paint and usually that will speed up the drying times as well. Usually they are completely dry in 24 hours!"
