Note that the matte and satin MSA varnishes will lighten dark value… Varnishes for acrylic, oil, alkyd, egg tempera, watercolor, and casein GOLDEN MSA (Mineral Spirit Acrylic) Varnish with UVLS (Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers) dry to a tough, yet flexible protective finish and contain ultraviolet light filters and stabilizers (UVLS). The UVLS system provides increased resistance to the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation, making the product suitable for exterior as well as interior application. MSA Varnish can be used over a wide variety of paints, including acrylic, oil, alkyd, egg tempera, watercolor, and casein. As a topcoat for acrylics, it provides a harder, lower tack surface that is much less susceptible to dirt and is more mar resistant. GOLDEN MSA - available in Matte, Satin, and Gloss finishes. A mineral spirit based acrylic resin system that forms a tougher, less permeable film than waterborne acrylic varnishes. Can be applied to acrylic, oil, and alkyd painted surfaces. Reduces dirt penetration and surface marring, offering an extremely level film with less foam and fewer pinholes. Removable with mineral spirits after drying; recommended for interior or exterior use. Not for use by children. Thins with MSA Varnish Solvent. MSA Varnish Solvent - the ideal solvent for thinning GOLDEN MSA Varnishes, which must be thinned before use. MSA Solvent assures clear, clean, even application. Can be used to remove MSA Varnish at a later time for restoration purposes. * Protects against dirt and dust* Provides moisture resistance* MSA UVLS: Ultraviolet Light Stabilizers (UVLS)* MSA Varnish can be used over a wide variety of paints, including acrylic, oil, alkyd, egg tempera, watercolor, and casein* As a topcoat for acrylics For restoration purposes, the varnish may be removed with MSA Solvent, full strength commercial mineral spirits ( i. e. : paint thinner or white spirits ), or distilled or rectified turpentine. MSA Varnish (Gloss) dries to a highly reflective finish. MSA Varnish (Satin) offers moderate reflection, similar to most matte varnishes. MSA Varnish (Matte) finish is exceptionally flat. The different finishes can be intermixed to achieve the desired sheen. Note that the matte and satin MSA varnishes will lighten dark value colors, which is typical of reduced sheen varnishes.
