Gamblin Galkyd Painting Medium 16 oz BottleSave Up to25%Off list…oil colors, Modifying painting mediums, Studio clean up.Gamsol is a petroleum distillate but all the aromatic solvents have been refined out of it, less than .005% remains. Gamvar - Conservation quality varnish for oil, acrylic and alkyd paintings. This resin varnish may be removed with a mild… True to historic working properties. Safer. More Permanent. Gamblin Oil Painting mediums offer a great deal more than simply extending oil colors. Mediums modify the working properties of oil color from the tube – from a fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Painting mediums also broaden the visual qualities of our colors – from increasing the transparency of paint layers, to creating a range of surface qualities, from high gloss to matte. Gamblin’s family of Galkyd painting mediums and Cold Wax Medium are formulated with Gamsol. We recommend only Gamsol for thinning these materials. Alkali Refined Linseed Oil - Processed from flax seeds. This linseed is the purest and lightest industrially produced variety. Cold Pressed Linseed Oil - Made from the first pressing of flax seeds without heat or chemicals of any kind. Cold Wax Medium - Made from natural white unbleached beeswax. Mix directly into colors. Cold Wax creates an ultra-thick, matte impasto. For greater shine and flexibility mix with Galkyd medium. "G-Gel" - Made from alkyd resin, Galkyd Gel is a colorless oil color additive that accelerates the drying rate of oil colors and enables artists to create thick transparent paintings with a moderate sheen. Galkyd Painting Medium - Alkyd based resin painting medium that thins oil paints and maintains a strong flexible paint film. Galkyd speeds the drying rate and is excellent for glazing providing an enamel like finish. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Galkyd Painting Medium Lite No.2 - This low viscosity alkyd resin painting medium is a good replacement for traditional damar/ linseed oil/ turpentine combination mediums. Galkyd Lite dries within about 3 hours to a subdued gloss, and will maintain your brush strokes. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Galkyd Slow Drying Medium - Especially formulated to thin oil colors and give painters extended working time. To use mix equal portions of medium with oil colors to paint wet for at least a day. Since this product should not be diluted you may want to purchase the larger size. Gamsol - Quality solvent and medium and for general oil painting. Gamsol is also an excellent studio and brush cleaner. Odorless Mineral Spirits -Gamsol is the safest solvent that allows oil painters to utilize all traditional painting techniques without compromise. Primary Uses for Gamsol - Thinning oil colors, Modifying painting mediums, Studio clean up.Gamsol is a petroleum distillate but all the aromatic solvents have been refined out of it, less than .005% remains. Gamvar - Conservation quality varnish for oil, acrylic and alkyd paintings. This resin varnish may be removed with a mild solvent and contains a UV stabilizer. Developed in association with the National Gallery of Art. Package makes enough varnish to cover 80 sq ft. Once varnish is applied surface will have a uniform gloss apperance. Neo-Megilp - When mixed into oil colors Neo-Megilp makes them richer and deeper and finished paintings have a luminous glow! Neo-Megilp will not darken or crack over time. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Oil Painting Ground - For strong, bright foundations of oil paintings. Requires only 2 coats. Formulated from alkyd resin, titanium dioxide and barium sulfate. Stiffer than traditional gesso. PVA Size - Use as a barrier size between linen or cotton canvas instead of rabbit skin glue. Remains flexible and won't yellow, shrink or swell. Poppy Oil - Poppy Oil's slow drying time may be useful for painters using "wet into wet" techniques. Adding 10% by volume poppy oil slows down the drying time of Gamblin Galkyd Painting Mediums. Rabbit Skin Glue - Gamblin's Rabbit Skin Glue is the traditional size for fabric support on panels. It seals porous fabric and isolates it from ground or oil paints. Stretching the canvas is easy, because the size shrinks as it dries. Safflower Oil- Gamblin's Safflower Oil is a pale, slow-drying oil. Safflower oil increases flow of oil colors and slows dry time. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount of Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying, low-viscosity painting medium. Solvent-Free Gel Medium - This unique, non-toxic blend of safflower oil and alkyd resin gives colors more flow and transparency, yet holds brushstrokes well. It has a moderately fast drying rate, increases gloss, and supports the broadest range of painting techniques with the least compromise across color, dry time, texture and mark-making. Contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. Solvent-Free Fluid Medium- Gamblin's Solvent-Free Fluid Mediumgives oil colors more flow and transparency, It has a moderately fast drying rate that increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, this medium is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. Stand Oil - Vacuum bodied heavy oil which can be used in painting and glazing mediums. Dries to an enamel like finish. Traditional Gesso - Gamblin's Traditional Gesso is a dry mixture of rabbit skin glue, gypsum, marble dust, and titanium dioxide. Paintings on gesso are more matte because of the high absorbency of traditional gesso. Wax Pastilles - Small beads of naturally white unbleached beeswax.* See More

Our Galkyd line of painting mediums are formulated with Gamsol, so they readily accept Gamsol as a thinning agent. Most solvents available to artists come from the industrial paint industry where solvent power and cheapness is prized. Gamsol is special: it is made for products and processes that come into more intimate contact with the body such as cosmetics, hand cleaners, and cleaning food service equipment. Gamsol is a petroleum distillate but all the aromatic solvents have been refined out of it, less than .005% remains. Aromatic solvents are the most harmful types of petroleum solvents. The Gamsol SDS shows that it has an Exposure Limit Value higher than most solvents available to artists. In addition, Gamsol’s flash point allows it to ship via air cargo as a non-hazardous material. All of these factors have lead to Gamsol being used widely in oil painting classrooms; in those classes, there are no solvent odors, only the wonderful smell of oil colors See More

Gamblin Solvent-Free Fluid Oil Medium 16.9oz BottleSave Up to25%Off list…Oil is a pale, slow-drying oil. When used as a painting medium, Safflower Oil to colors increases flow and slows dry times. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying, low-viscosity painting medium. To paint solvent-free, we recommend Gamblin Safflower Oil… Gamblin Solvent-Free Painting Mediums Solvent-Free Gel and Solvent-Free Fluid are painting mediums made from safflower oil and alkyd resin with no solvent. Why safflower? We chose safflower for these mediums because of its paler color. The alkyd resin, which is essentially a highly polymerized oil, accounts for the faster drying rate of these materials, compared to either linseed or safflower oils used alone. Both Solvent-Free Fluid and Gel increase the flow of oil colors, increase transparency, gloss and color saturation. Both Solvent-Free Fluid and Gel increase the flow of oil colors, increase transparency, gloss and color saturation Solvent-free-Mediums:* Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel gives colors more flow and transparency, yet holds the shape of your brushmark. Solvent-Free Gel has a moderately fast drying rate and increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates.Solvent-Free Gel is available in the following size: 37 ml, 150 ml * Gamblin Solvent-Free Fluid painting medium gives oil colors more flow and transparency. It has a moderately fast drying rate and increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, Gamblin Solvent-Free Fluid is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. To ensure proper drying and prevent beading-up of paint layers, Solvent-Free Fluid should be used in moderation with oil colors – no more than 25% by volume. To avoid wrinkling, apply mixtures of Solvent-Free Fluid and oil colors thinly. For underpainting, we recommend adding Gamsol to Solvent-Free Fluid. Solvent-Free Fluid is available in the following sizes: 4.2oz, 8.5 oz & 16.9 oz. * Gamblin Safflower Oil is a pale, slow-drying oil. When used as a painting medium, Safflower Oil to colors increases flow and slows dry times. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying, low-viscosity painting medium. To paint solvent-free, we recommend Gamblin Safflower Oil for cleaning brushes while you are working. Solvent-Free Safflower Oil is available in the following sizes: 8.5 oz & 16.9 oz. The biggest difference between the Solvent-Free Fluid and the Gel is their consistency. The Fluid medium more significantly increases the flow of oil colors off of the brush. In terms of its working properties, it is similar to either straight linseed or safflower, though faster-drying. Brush-marks will be slightly leveled, or “rounded” when using the Fluid. Drying Time: In regards to their drying, these mediums have a “moderately fast” drying rate – meaning that thin layers will dry to the touch in approximately 36 – 48 hours. Because they rely solely on oxidation to dry, they have a longer working time compared to our Galkyd mediums, which begin to tack up as their Gamsol content evaporates from paint layers. See More

Artistico Watercolor Paper - 22"x30" Extra White, 140lb Rough (10-Pack)Save Up to50%Off listWhite Four-Deckled Edge Watercolor Papers, Vegan Sized Fabriano's paper mill has been making fine art papers since 1264. They have pioneered many paper-making processes over the centuries, including paper sizing. Today, Fabriano uses vegan sizing to internally and externally size its papers without animal-by products. This new sizing allows watercolorists to have more control when lifting color. Fabriano has also modernized and reduced the size of its watermark because your artwork should be the star. All of Fabriano Artistico's 100% cotton rag watercolor papers are mould-made. This paper technique creates a more consistent and even water absorption over the surface and makes the paper robust and durable enough to withstand scrubbing. Fabriano Artistico Watercolor Paper has incredible working qualities, a beautiful surface texture, and two distinct "whites." Key Features:* 100% cotton, no whiteners* Vegan sized paper* Chlorine and acid-free* Mould-made* Four deckled edges* External and internal sizing* No animal by-products used* Cold, Hot, Rough, Soft Presses* No optical bleaching* Smaller watermark Perfect For:* Artists that want the best* Professional Watercolorists* Printmakers* Charcoal & graphite drawing* Soft press ideal for beginners* All water media! Artistico is offered in Traditional and Extra White and comes in Cold, Hot, Rough, and Soft Presses. Cold Press - (sometimes referred to as "Not Press") Italian translation is Grana Fina. It offers a lovely slight texture and tooth that grips pigment beautifully, created from pressing the finished paper between cold cylinders. Overall the most popular watercolor press. Hot Press - Italian translation is Grana Satinata. Provides a smooth, flat, even surface; produced by being run through hot cylinders. Perfect for multimedia drawings and paintings with all water media. Rough Press - Italian translation is Grana Grossa. Features a pronounced tooth and texture heavier than Cold Press, created from placing wet paper sheets between textured blankets and air drying. The rough press produces a grainy effect as watercolor pigment particles collect in the low parts of the paper. Soft Press - Italian translation is Grana Dolce. A unique surface that only Fabriano makes. It is a press between Cold and Hot, providing just enough texture for grip, and is considered almost spongy in feel. As a result, it is a favorite among printmakers. It is the perfect surface for beginner watercolorists who have not quite mastered the effects of Cold Press (available in Extra White). See More

Paris Oil Primed Artists' 20x24" Linen Canvas, Box of 3Save Up to77%Off listWhite Premium Heavy Duty European Style and Quality Linen - The ultimate stretched linen canvas for oil color artists! Beginning with only the finest quality long-yarn linen fibers, Paris canvas is woven into a medium weight fabric with a 42 TPI warp and 40 TPI weft. The linen is hand washed and pumiced to a lovely even surface, then coated with a layer of glue sizing and three coats of archival, non-yellowing, off-white oil primer, and is hand-sanded between coats for ideal adhesion. This oil primer is specially formulated to produce beautiful results with oil paints: as it is non-absorbent, the oils in the paint are allowed to sit up on the surface, making for luminous, refractive effects only possible with oil paints used on the proper ground. Once primed and dried, the canvas is stretched onto an innovative designed solid pine stretcher bars — instead of the standard tongue-and-groove join of regular stretcher bars, these bars feature slot-lap joins that are far less likely to go out of square. In addition, the 1" deep by 2-1/4" wide stretchers offer more support to the canvas, as the bulk of the size is in the width. Larger size canvases also feature 3/4" deep by 2-1/4" wide cross braces for added support. * Premium, classic European-style stretched linen canvas * Texture of the surface is in the medium range * Linen is hand-washed and pumiced for a fine surface * Luxurious non-absorbent, non-yellowing, off white oil primer * Bars feature slot-lap joins that are far less likely to go out of square * 1" deep by 2-1/4" wide stretchers offer more support to the canvas * Larger size canvases also feature 3/4" deep by 2-1/4" wide cross braces for added support * Hand-sanded between coats for excellent adhesion * Innovative stretcher and cross bar system stays square * Meticulously inspected at each stage of manufacture * The finest painting support for oil colors, crafted without compromise! The canvas is wrapped onto the stretchers and tacked along the sides with traditional copper tacks, a method that distributes the stress of the canvas more securely and ensures the strength of the stretching over time. The overlapping canvas corners are not cut, but folded carefully, and excess canvas is stapled onto the back of the stretcher frame, making for easy re-stretching if ever necessary. Once finished, each canvas is individually inspected and only once inspection is passed is it stamped with the Paris logo on the back of the product. Finally, cardboard corner protectors are added to prevent damage in shipping or storage, so the canvas that arrives to you is perfect in every way. Key Features: * 11oz weight, 100% unbleached cotton * Portrait smooth, fine weave * 3/4" Deep profile * Triple-primed with an acid-free all media primer Perfect For: * Painting with any media! * Watercolors, water-based inks, airbrush colors * Acrylics, markers, acrylic inks * Oil paint, shellac, and alkyds Jerry's Exclusive - Best Seller! The all media acrylic primer accepts watercolors, acrylic colors, oil colors, caseins, alkyds and egg tempera. For Portraits - Super realistic artists love Yes! because the surface is plate smooth and affordable. You can easily draw on the canvas because it's made with the finest close-weaved cotton and primed three times to a super smooth surface. But here's the twist you can also paint on it with any media! It will accept any paint, ink, or marker you have in your studio. As a Watercolor Surface - Many watercolorists draw with permanent marker as they create their base design. With this surface, you can draw right into your watercolor without feathering or smudging. A unique twist to this canvas is that you can draw with a permanent marker and use the lines to form a resist for your watercolors. This marker technique is very similar to the resist used for silk painting and is quite dazzling. For traditional watercolor painting, the color sits right on top of the surface, which allows you to lift paint, scratch into color, and apply layers for unique effects. This canvas works best with tube watercolor and provides rich, vibrant expressions. Acrylics and Watercolors - We don't know where art will lead you on this canvas. Still, you may want to start by playing with watercolors and gouache reworking and fine tuning until you finish the top layers with permanent acrylics. Of course, you don't need to use watercolors with your acrylics, but you can if you want. You'll find this surface to be fantastic with virtually any acrylic based paint from heavy body to acrylic based inks. Before applying watercolor, we suggest that you clean the canvas thoroughly with high-strength Isopropyl alcohol to remove any hand-oils from the canvas. Surface oils may have accumulated from manufacturing, packaging, or unwrapping the canvas. Cleaning the canvas should prevent the paint from beading up on the surface. See More

Old Holland canvases are made exclusively from Claessens Linen, crafted from woven natural flax from Belgium. They grow, sort, and process the materials needed with the greatest care. These are truly natural products, with small differences in their color, composition, and non-mechanical surface feel, leading to a beautifully unique end product. Old Holland Claessens Oil Primed Belgian Linen Canvas features 100% Belgian linen prepared with two coats of oil primer and then stretched around robust 13/16" stretcher bars and back-stapled to the frame for optimum strength. Both Old Holland and Claessens have over a century of craftsmanship behind their names, and are both considered leaders in their specific fields. The production of an canvas for Old Holland using Claessens linen is still inspired today by the proven techniques and methods from the times of the great Flemish and Dutch Masters. Experts and internationally renowned artists alike appreciate the qualities of an Old Holland Claessens canvas. First the canvas is double sized and then carefully primed by knife with Zinc White bound in linseed oil. The canvas is then naturally air-dried for three days. It's a nightmare when a deadline for a show is approaching, and you don't have a frame ready to go. It's ok, we've all been there. It's natural to focus on your work before thinking about the frame, but it is also important to plan ahead. That's why we decided to package our popular Centurion Canvas Panels with our Museum Plein Air Frames. Now you can spend less time shopping and more time creating. Centurion Linen is oil primed so that it bonds correctly with oil paint. The primer is non-absorbent, so oil paints sit on top of the surface and maintain their luster. Acid-free and archival, the medium-textured linen is cleanly wrapped and adhered to a solid 3mm MDF wood board. Our Museum Collection Plein Aire Frames are hand-finished and leafed by expert craftsmen. These frames are available in two styles: Gold Leaf and Antique Black with Gold Trim. The Black frames feature an undertone of gold with a distinctive antique gold liner. Never approach a deadline again without a frame. Play it smart and prepare with a Duo Canvas and Frame pack! It's heavy, quality wood, with closed, seamless corners reinforced from the back, and the finish is immaculate. Hand-gilded and varnished. Thick wood, which holds screws exceptionally well, and you don't have to worry about screws piercing through to the front. Plus, the frames include hanging hardware such as screws, D-rings, and wire. I also like that the frames are packaged well for safe arrival: each frame has cardboard corners, is wrapped in a bubble wrap sleeve, and is then enclosed inside a made-to-fit cardboard box (which is super handy for shipping your paintings in later). These are not cheap frames, but if you have a special piece that needs to go into a top-tier show or gallery, feel confident when you order these. This is the best frame Jerry's sells. You won't find a better frame for the price." - Billie W See More
