Liquin Original - halves the drying time of oil color and reduces brush stroke retention. Creates a smooth, gel-like paint film that is easier to work with. Liquin allows the paint to dry faster and makes working with multiple layers easier. Liquin Light Gel - Liquin Original halves the drying time of oil color and reduces brush stroke retention (touch dry in 1-6 days depending on color & film thickness). Creates a smooth, gel-like paint film that is easier to work with. Allows the paint to dry faster and aids working with multiple layers. Resists yellowing. Not suitable as a varnish or final coat. Liquin Fine Detail - The most fluid medium within the Liquin family. Add to color to produce a low-viscosity mixture. Increases fluidity and reduces brushstroke retention. Liquin allows the paint to dry faster and makes working with multiple layers easier. Liquin Oleopasto - A paste-like, semi-matte version of Liquin that halves the drying time of oil. Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming As an oil colorist, it is important to work on oil-primed surfaces and not universally primed surfaces. The reason is that universal primed surfaces are semi-absorbent. Gesso is absorbent even if it is plate smooth. The paint does not get absorbed as much and sits on the surface more making it easy to blend and manipulate. Granted, it is not highly absorbent, but the fact remains that some oil will get into the primer and flatten the image. You can get around this by using an under-painting oil ground on top of the surface of a universal ground canvas, but this is very time-consuming and expensive. Our primer does not contain zinc or lead. The main ingredients used in the coating of these panels are acrylic emulsion, titanium pigment, calcium carbonate, and alkyd resin. Unlike universal ground, our oil priming chemically bonds with the oil paint and is non-absorbent allowing the paint to sit up on the surface with the correct refraction quality of the oil binder.
