Stretcher profiles have a deep front beaded edge, to prevent any ghosting of the stretcher on the canvas when working. On the back, the edges are gently rounded, making it easier to stretch and staple the canvas while also creating a clean paintable style canvas edge. Above anything else, they wanted a board that was acid-free so they could use it with their original artwork.
