Use it to thin the paint for easier flow, and reduce visible brush marks. Refined Linseed Stand Oil - Refined Linseed Stand Oil is a viscous, pale oil medium extracted from linseed. It will level out brushstrokes in oil paint and slow the drying process. Refined Safflower Oil - a pale, clean, slow-drying oil that can be used to brighten and thin oil paints. Refined Walnut Oil - Walnut oil dries at the same rate as linseed oil, but it doesn't yellow as much. The film cures clean and bright.
