When thinning more than 25%, create an equal mix of water and matte medium. * Sand slick surfaces first. Apply a thin coat with a flat brush and let dry for 24 hours before painting. * To create a smoother base, sand the dried gesso and reapply. * Acrylic painters should apply at least two coats. * Oil painters should apply 2-4 coats and sand between applications. * To create a colored background, gradually add acrylic paint to the gesso until you reach your desired tone. We recommend using a natural oil based soap and warm water afterwards to complete the brush cleaning, moisturize the brush hairs and help preserve them. Ventilation: All essential oils/solvents should be used appropriately and with ventilation and common sense usage. Skin contact: As with all essential oils, you should always avoid skin contact, especially if you have skin issues. Skin contact for some people will not cause any problems, but because of the high concentration please be aware and take precautions when using Spike Oil or any other solvents.
