The Turner Company has a range of carefully created primers and mediums designed to fulfill any painter's ideas. You can paint on metal, wood, or glass with one of Turner's special primers or apply a final coat of varnish. Turner Retarder can also be mixed with traditional acrylics or acryl gouache to slow down drying and create special effects. It gives an elastic film after drying and a pastel tone when mixed with acrylic paint. Please note that it shrinks by approximately 40% after drying. Impasto of about 3cm thickness will take about 3 to 6 days to dry at an ambient temperature of 20 C thoroughly. Gloss Varnish: Turner Gloss Varnish can be used as a final gloss coat on a completed painting or as a mix-in medium with other acrylic paints. The varnish has a milky-white appearance but dries clear and creates a water-resistant film. When mixed with a significant amount of Acryl Gouache paint, it produces a glossy translucent effect. Retarder: Turner Retarder slows the drying time of acrylic gouache paints. The clear retarder forms a water-resistant film once dry.
