Why safflower? We chose safflower for these mediums because of its paler color. The alkyd resin, which is essentially a highly polymerized oil, accounts for the faster drying rate of these materials, compared to either linseed or safflower oils used alone. Both Solvent-Free Fluid and Gel increase the flow of oil colors, increase transparency, gloss and color saturation. Both Solvent-Free Fluid and Gel increase the flow of oil colors, increase transparency, gloss and color saturation Solvent-free-Mediums:* Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel gives colors more flow and transparency, yet holds the shape of your brushmark. Solvent-Free Gel has a moderately fast drying rate and increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates.Solvent-Free Gel is available in the following size: 37 ml, 150 ml * Gamblin Solvent-Free Fluid painting medium gives oil colors more flow and transparency. It has a moderately fast drying rate and increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, Gamblin Solvent-Free Fluid is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. To ensure proper drying and prevent beading-up of paint layers, Solvent-Free Fluid should be used in moderation with oil colors – no more than 25% by volume. To avoid wrinkling, apply mixtures of Solvent-Free Fluid and oil colors thinly. For underpainting, we recommend adding Gamsol to Solvent-Free Fluid. Solvent-Free Fluid is available in the following sizes: 4.2oz, 8.5 oz & 16.9 oz. * Gamblin Safflower Oil is a pale, slow-drying oil. When used as a painting medium, Safflower Oil to colors increases flow and slows dry times. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying, low-viscosity painting medium. To paint solvent-free, we recommend Gamblin Safflower Oil for cleaning brushes while you are working. Solvent-Free Safflower Oil is available in the following sizes: 8.5 oz & 16.9 oz. The biggest difference between the Solvent-Free Fluid and the Gel is their consistency. The Fluid medium more significantly increases the flow of oil colors off of the brush. In terms of its working properties, it is similar to either straight linseed or safflower, though faster-drying. Brush-marks will be slightly leveled, or “rounded” when using the Fluid. Drying Time: In regards to their drying, these mediums have a “moderately fast” drying rate – meaning that thin layers will dry to the touch in approximately 36 – 48 hours. Because they rely solely on oxidation to dry, they have a longer working time compared to our Galkyd mediums, which begin to tack up as their Gamsol content evaporates from paint layers. See More -

…Beautiful satin sheen * Everyday studio use * Pouring Medium Brochure Pouring Medium: V30392 or V30393 LUKAS pouring medium improves the flow characteristics of acrylic paints and is perfect for pouring techniques. Once dry, the medium creates a transparent, waterproof, polished surface. Formulated… The Unique, next level of pouring medium! More of what you love and less of what you don't like about pouring! When added to acrylic paint, traditional pouring mediums generate random cells of color; as a result, most pourers add silicone to the mix to create more interesting shapes. LUKAS Pouring Medium is unique because you can create more dramatic effects without adding silicone and still produce spectacular cell formations. Other pouring mediums on the market such as Liquitex are very tacky until thoroughly dry causing dust particles to interfere with results. Surface defects from craters to cracks are a pitfall of traditional and household pouring mediums. LUKAS Pouring Medium is a real breakthrough because it dries to a beautiful satin sheen with almost no noticeable cavities and absolutely no cracking. The rule of thumb is the lower viscosity of the paint, such as ink, the smaller the ratio of the pouring medium, while thicker heavy body paint would receive a more significant portion of the medium. You can use virtually any acrylic based color, but we suggest richly pigmented colors! You can pour this flexible acrylic medium over almost any substrate, but it is better to pour on a hard flat surface such as a wooden panel. By changing mix ratios, variety of colors, viscosity, and types of substrates, it is almost impossible to run out of distinct variations. If you did five pours every day for the rest of your life, you’d only scratch the surface on the final creations you could create! LUKAS Pouring Medium is the next level of pouring medium designed to create the most beautiful and interesting pours. If for any reason you don’t feel that LUKAS Pouring Medium yields the best results in pouring, you can return it for a full refund. Key Features: * No need to add silicone for more cell formation* Pour over any hard flat surface* Dries to a permanent hard, water-resistant surface* Even sheen, non-tacky, satin sheen* Higher definition, greater cell formation* Smooth level surfaces, less defects* No cracks and no craters* Will not yellow or discolor over time* Less tacky* Dries to a permanent water resistant, crack free surface* Formulated with self leveling and anti crater additives* Impossible to run out of inspiration* Available In: 250ml, 500ml & 5 Liter(169oz / 1.32 gallons) Perfect For: * Dirty pours and cup pouring * Liquid pouring * Superb control and excellent definition * Creating interesting pours * Organic shape creation * Beautiful satin sheen * Everyday studio use * Pouring Medium Brochure Pouring Medium: V30392 or V30393 LUKAS pouring medium improves the flow characteristics of acrylic paints and is perfect for pouring techniques. …– from a fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Painting mediums also broaden the visual qualities of our colors – from increasing the transparency of paint layers, to creating a range of surface qualities, from high gloss to matte. Gamblin’s… True to historic working properties. Safer. More Permanent. Gamblin Oil Painting mediums offer a great deal more than simply extending oil colors. Mediums modify the working properties of oil color from the tube – from a fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Painting mediums also broaden the visual qualities of our colors – from increasing the transparency of paint layers, to creating a range of surface qualities, from high gloss to matte. Gamblin’s family of Galkyd painting mediums and Cold Wax Medium are formulated with Gamsol. We recommend only Gamsol for thinning these materials. Alkali Refined Linseed Oil - Processed from flax seeds. This linseed is the purest and lightest industrially produced variety. Cold Pressed Linseed Oil - Made from the first pressing of flax seeds without heat or chemicals of any kind. Cold Wax Medium - Made from natural white unbleached beeswax. Mix directly into colors. Cold Wax creates an ultra-thick, matte impasto. For greater shine and flexibility mix with Galkyd medium. "G-Gel" - Made from alkyd resin, Galkyd Gel is a colorless oil color additive that accelerates the drying rate of oil colors and enables artists to create thick transparent paintings with a moderate sheen. Galkyd Painting Medium - Alkyd based resin painting medium that thins oil paints and maintains a strong flexible paint film. Galkyd speeds the drying rate and is excellent for glazing providing an enamel like finish. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Galkyd Painting Medium Lite No.2 - This low viscosity alkyd resin painting medium is a good replacement for traditional damar/ linseed oil/ turpentine combination mediums. Galkyd Lite dries within about 3 hours to a subdued gloss, and will maintain your brush strokes. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Galkyd Slow Drying Medium - Especially formulated to thin oil colors and give painters extended working time. To use mix equal portions of medium with oil colors to paint wet for at least a day. Since this product should not be diluted you may want to purchase the larger size. Gamsol - Quality solvent and medium and for general oil painting. Gamsol is also an excellent studio and brush cleaner. Odorless Mineral Spirits -Gamsol is the safest solvent that allows oil painters to utilize all traditional painting techniques without compromise. Primary Uses for Gamsol - Thinning oil colors, Modifying painting mediums, Studio clean up.Gamsol is a petroleum distillate but all the aromatic solvents have been refined out of it, less than .005% remains. Gamvar - Conservation quality varnish for oil, acrylic and alkyd paintings. This resin varnish may be removed with a mild solvent and contains a UV stabilizer. Developed in association with the National Gallery of Art. Package makes enough varnish to cover 80 sq ft. Once varnish is applied surface will have a uniform gloss apperance. Neo-Megilp - When mixed into oil colors Neo-Megilp makes them richer and deeper and finished paintings have a luminous glow! Neo-Megilp will not darken or crack over time. For thinning, Gamblin recommends using Gamsol or a small amount of Refined Linseed Oil. Oil Painting Ground - For strong, bright foundations of oil paintings. Requires only 2 coats. Formulated from alkyd resin, titanium dioxide and barium sulfate. Stiffer than traditional gesso. PVA Size - Use as a barrier size between linen or cotton canvas instead of rabbit skin glue. Remains flexible and won't yellow, shrink or swell. Poppy Oil - Poppy Oil's slow drying time may be useful for painters using "wet into wet" techniques. Adding 10% by volume poppy oil slows down the drying time of Gamblin Galkyd Painting Mediums. Rabbit Skin Glue - Gamblin's Rabbit Skin Glue is the traditional size for fabric support on panels. It seals porous fabric and isolates it from ground or oil paints. Stretching the canvas is easy, because the size shrinks as it dries. Safflower Oil- Gamblin's Safflower Oil is a pale, slow-drying oil. Safflower oil increases flow of oil colors and slows dry time. Use sparingly or mix with an equal amount of Gamsol to create a traditional slow-drying, low-viscosity painting medium. Solvent-Free Gel Medium - This unique, non-toxic blend of safflower oil and alkyd resin gives colors more flow and transparency, yet holds brushstrokes well. It has a moderately fast drying rate, increases gloss, and supports the broadest range of painting techniques with the least compromise across color, dry time, texture and mark-making. Contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. Solvent-Free Fluid Medium- Gamblin's Solvent-Free Fluid Mediumgives oil colors more flow and transparency, It has a moderately fast drying rate that increases gloss. Made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, this medium is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates. Stand Oil - Vacuum bodied heavy oil which can be used in painting and glazing mediums. Dries to an enamel like finish. Traditional Gesso - Gamblin's Traditional Gesso is a dry mixture of rabbit skin glue, gypsum, marble dust, and titanium dioxide. Paintings on gesso are more matte because of the high absorbency of traditional gesso. Wax Pastilles - Small beads of naturally white unbleached beeswax.* See More -

Claessens Linen Rolls provide artists with optimal professional quality in painting surfaces and craftsmanship. Each specific primed linen type passed through its own set of manufacturing steps and quality control, resulting in the premium painting surfaces Claessens is renowned for. After receiving the raw linens, quality control carefully inspects the entire surface for weaving faults. Abnormally thick threads are scrupulously removed. Next, two layers of synthetic adhesive are applied. Each layer is dried on the canvas in a warm-air oven. For oil primed canvases, zinc white is used as the first coat, bound with linseed oil; carefully applied to the glued linen with trowel-like knives. Then the canvas is sanded and a layer with a titanium white base is applied in the same fashion, then placed in a drying room for 3 days to air dry naturally. Double primed canvases undergo the same process again, as do additional primings. After the final coating is applied, the canvas is moved back to the drying room for 10 days. The finished canvases are then again carefully inspected one last time before they are place on rolls and stocked in the warehouse. There, the rolls are put into boxes or tubes for shipping. These stringent, painstaking steps create an archival, exceptional linen canvas worthy of your finest masterpiece! The term “cold” in Cold Wax Medium and Cold Wax Painting refers to the fact that heat is not required for working with this wax medium – as it dries by solvent evaporation (Gamsol), rather than the cooling of the wax, as in encaustic painting. As the Gamsol evaporates out of the medium, the soft wax hardens to the density of a beeswax candle. Unlike other Gamblin painting mediums, which increase the flow and gloss of oil colors to varying degrees, Cold Wax Medium makes oil colors thicker and more matte. It has a “short” characteristic and gives a clean break off of the brush or knife, retaining the sharp peaks of impasto. These working properties allow for expressive brushmarks and the ability to carve into paint layers with palette knives. Cold Wax also gives oil colors a beautiful translucent quality, similar to the seductive surfaces of encaustic paintings. * Cold Wax - Made from natural white unbleached beeswax.* Mix directly into colors* Cold Wax creates an ultra-thick, matte impasto* For greater shine and flexibility mix with Galkyd medium* Excellent in creating a variety of textures within a painting What is Cold Wax Painting? Cold Wax Painting is any type of painting that heavily utilizes Cold Wax Medium into oil colors. In its own way, Cold Wax Painting blurs the line between oil painting and encaustic painting. Cold Wax Painting It’s a rare occurrence for one specific painting medium to have a whole genre of painting associated with it, but Cold Wax Medium is one such medium. Cold Wax Painting is not defined by subject matter nor the degree of realism or abstraction, Cold Wax Painting is unified by artists’ shared interest in experimentation, texture and the physicality of paint layers. Mediums modify the working properties of oil color from the tube - from a fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Painting mediums also broaden the visual qualities of our colors - from increasing the transparency of paint layers, to creating a range of surface qualities, from high gloss to matte. Gamblin Galkyd Painitng Medium - Galkyd thins oil colors and increases transparency and gloss. When used in greater proportions with oil color, Galkyd will level brush-strokes, creating an enamel-like surface. Galkyd is our fastest-drying painting medium. Wood Primer: Used as an undercoat on wood to create good covering power and adhesion with acrylic paint. Wood Primer will block stains and seal porous surfaces to prevent colors from excessive soaking into the wood. Dilute with about 30% water to make a smooth and beautiful finish. Dry thoroughly for more than one day before overpainting with Acryl Gouache. Metal Primer: Used as an undercoat on metal with good water and weather resistance. Brush out directly or with about 10% water. Apply one or two coats as thinly as possible for the best results. Dry thoroughly for more than one day before overpainting with Acryl Gouache. Fabric Medium: Turner Fabric Medium allows you to use Turner Acryl Gouache on fabric. It works well with water-based acrylic paints. Modeling Paste Pastel: Water-based paste in white color with high viscosity, which enables opaque and matte impasto. It gives an elastic film after drying and a pastel tone when mixed with acrylic paint. Please note that it shrinks by approximately 40% after drying. Impasto of about 3cm thickness will take about 3 to 6 days to dry at an ambient temperature of 20 C thoroughly. Gloss Varnish: Turner Gloss Varnish can be used as a final gloss coat on a completed painting or as a mix-in medium with other acrylic paints. The varnish has a milky-white appearance but dries clear and creates a water-resistant film. When mixed with a significant amount of Acryl Gouache paint, it produces a glossy translucent effect. Retarder: Turner Retarder slows the drying time of acrylic gouache paints. The clear retarder forms a water-resistant film once dry. Using too much Turner Retarder may cause the painting surface to be tacky for a few days. See More -

Its robust and supple design allows you to make curved or straight cuts. Even after repeated bending, the stainless steel blade will return to its straight shape. Liquid Polyclay Medium: Clear Liquid Polyclay Medium is an innovative product that supports the creation of perfect photo transfers and finishes for Kato Polyclay pieces. You can also use the medium as an adhesive, grout, or glaze. Liquid Polyclays should be cured at 300F (150C) for 20 minutes for a matte finish. To create a glossier finish, bake for an additional 10 minutes at 350F (177C), or wave a heat gun over the project until the desired glossiness appears. Do not inhale fumes and never cure above 350F (177C) or allow Liquid Polyclay to come in contact with an open flame. Polypaste Polymer Glue: You can use Polypaste as an adhesive, create textured surfaces, or repair cracks in polymer clay pieces with the paste. Because of its thick viscosity, it will not run. It is also a polymer clay, making it unlike any other adhesive out there. These unique properties make this medium useful in more ways than one. Polypaste can be used to bond polymer clay and finished Liquid Polyclay elements in any combination. Polypaste is exceptionally malleable; this makes it great for creating textured surfaces and embossing. After curing, adhesion is permanent. Polypaste can also be used as a softening agent if your clay is hard to condition. Repel Gel: Repel Gel is a water-soluble, non-toxic medium that prevents Kato Polyclay from sticking to itself during the baking process. The water-soluble gel is easy to use and easy to clean-up. Use a paintbrush to apply a thin coat of Repel Gel to the areas of the Polyclay were you want to avoid adhesion during the curing process. Follow baking instructions and separate the clay where you applied the Repel Gel. You can rinse off any residue with cold water. See More -

Damar Varnish - This natural varnish improves the brilliance of colors, imparts a medium-gloss finish and protects paintings. May be removed with solvents for restoration. Linseed Oil - This lead and acid-free oil thins the consistency of oil paints and improves brush strokes. Thinner than stand oil, but since it may yellow with age, use primarily with darker colors. Rectified Turpentine - This double-distilled and highly refined turpentine reduces the consistency and improves the flow of artist's oil colors. Stand Oil - is a thick, heavy oil that produces paint with good flowing qualities for fine detail and glazing work. Imparts an enamel-like quality. Imitation Venice Turpentine - Venice Turpentine is a luxurious, regal oil painting medium. When added to color, it increases the paint's adhesive quality to the canvas and will impart an enamel-like gloss to colors when dry. New 3.75 oz bottle has a wide spill-proof bottom. All other sizes come in metal cans. Click here for Richeson Artist Oils - The Shiva Series See More -
