Use it to thin the paint for easier flow, and reduce visible brush marks. Refined Linseed Stand Oil - Refined Linseed Stand Oil is a viscous, pale oil medium extracted from linseed. It will level out brushstrokes in oil paint and slow the drying process. Refined Safflower Oil - a pale, clean, slow-drying oil that can be used to brighten and thin oil paints. Refined Walnut Oil - Walnut oil dries at the same rate as linseed oil, but it doesn't yellow as much. The film cures clean and bright. Refined Poppyseed Oil - Refined Poppyseed Oil tempers the consistency of oil paints while increasing their gloss and transparency. Poppyseed oil is often incorporated with whites and light blues because of its non-yellowing nature. Gum Turpentine - Gum Turpentine is a colourless solvent distilled from pine sap. It is used to thin oil paint and generally speeds the drying time and thus is especially useful for underpainting. Dammar Glaze Medium - A traditional glaze medium (with cobalt siccative) that helps add depth and gloss to transparent colors. Known for its speedy drying time of oil colors; use with slower drying colors. Oil Painting Medium - A basic oil medium designed to ease flow and increase gloss, transparency, depth, and bedaub of the pigment color. This medium is a linseed stand oil and turpentine formulation that prevents the yellowing of paint film. Resin-Oil-Wax Medium - A soft painting paste derived from pure bleached beeswax mixed with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. This popular medium creates a lovely satin sheen and gentle impasto in paint layers. Settling of the medium may occur - allow jar to stand in hot water and stir contents until dissolved.
