There is a greater supply of pine in the thinner and shorter length, so we use high-quality white pine for these bars. The lightweight bars are extremely useful in small paintings. These bars can save you money and make framing easier; perfect for beginners, college students, and small works of art. All of BEST's Stretcher Bars are designed so that the canvas is always a full ½" (except lightweight) from the stretcher bar to ensure that there will be no "ghost" impressions on the canvas. The rounded back edge reduces surface friction and allows for a smoother, tighter draw on the canvas for a more even painting surface. All feature a slotted back for easy installation of cross braces. Bars are made of pure kiln-dried white pine. Measure 1 ¼" deep × 1 ½" wide. (See line drawing in images) All Stretcher Bars are undersized by ⅛" to allow for fitting in a standard stock frame. If you require exact dimensions, this will be considered a custom order.
