Should I Frame a Canvas Painting? Deciding whether to use ready made frames for canvas paintings all depends on your preferred aesthetic and media used like oils, acrylics, pastels and more. An unframed, stretched canvas has a modern, minimalist look that leaves no distraction from your artwork.
