Griffin Alkyd Fast-Drying Oil Color 37 ml Tube - Titanium WhiteSave Up to50%Off list
Starting At: $4.89
White Fast Drying Oil Colors Made with pigments and oil modified alkyd resin Griffin Alkyd is an oil color formulated from the same family of fast-drying resins that has been used by Winsor & Newton in producing Liquin and other mediums since the 1960’s. Each color reaches a touch-dry state in less than 24 hours, making them ideal for fast working while still offering the working and optical properties of oils. Their unique luminosity makes them perfectly suited for glazing, particularly when used in combination with Liquin. Compatible with conventional oils, Griffin Alkyd Oils have excellent flow properties and dry to a durable, semi-gloss hard film that will not yellow over time. Made with an alkyd resin binder that has been modified with a non-yellowing drying oil for optimum color retention, excellent durability, and rapid drying time. 48 oil colors is available in 37ml tubes. Titanium White is also available in 200ml tubes. Key Features:* 48 oil colors, available in 37ml tubes* Faster drying time than traditional oils* Dry to the touch in 18 to 24 hours* Genuine oil color* Can be thinned with traditional oil color solvents* Can usually be varnished in 30 days* No compromise on lightfastness, color strength, and selection* Speed of drying allows techniques such as impasto and glazing to be done in considerably less time* Classed as artists' quality because the grinding of pigments* Dries to a durable, semi-gloss hard film* Will not yellow over time Perfect For:* Fast working while still offering the working and optical properties of oils* Colors remain workable for 4-8 hours* Oil painting outdoors* Clean with mineral spirits* Non-yellowing drying oil for optimum color retention* Glazing, particularly when used in combination with Liquin * Because alkyd film is slightly less flexible and is faster drying than traditional oil color, application over oil or oilbar layers is not recommended. Alkyd is not intermixible with acrylics. Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Drying Oil Color Alkyds are made from a naturally derived vegetable oil that is polymerized. The result is a resin-like product that, when mixed with a solvent, is very similar to traditional linseed oil. The colours remain workable for 4 to 8 hours and are touch dry in 18 to 24. Consistent drying times across the range removes the usual restrictions that come with conventional oils, making it easier to overpaint, regardless of the colour upon the surface. Artist Review Great Product! "I work on commissions all the time that sometimes require a short deadline. I feel much more confident in getting them done and out in time while using these oils. You can also mix them in with regular oil paint and usually that will speed up the drying times as well. Usually they are completely dry in 24 hours!" See More -

White Revolutionary matte alkyd oils perfect for under painting and more! Gamblin has developed FastMatte Alkyd Oil Colors specifically with the needs of the artist in mind. The alkyd resin binder lets Gamblin FastMatte colors dry quickly but thoroughly, allowing multiple layers to be built up without disturbing previous ones. It is the matte surface, however, that makes Gamblin FastMatte colors so revolutionary: when used as an underpainting layer, the matte surface of the alkyd colors provides a mild tooth similar to that of ground, ensuring the proper adhesion of further oil layers when following the fat over lean rule. FastMatte Alkyd Oil Colors do make a fabulous underpainting medium, but are also completely compatible with all artists' grade oil colors—should a more glossy surface be desired on a finished painting, a quick coat of Gamblin Gamvar Picture Varnish will both intensify the colors and unify sheen. Artist Testimonial: "My impression of Da Vinci Fast Dry Alkyds is very positive. They are hands down much more pigmented than competing brands. In my comparison they are just as pigmented as other artists oils, which is great! They brush out very smoothly and barely have any odor at all…. They do not dry as fast as other alkyds…this also makes them much less likely to become tacky in the middle of a painting session… It seems that the combination alkyd and linseed binder is also very flexible which will probably provide for great long-term durability… the test swatches of each color I did are very flexible and don't crack. Also, they dry with a slight gloss and don't seem to sink in, which is very desirable, keeping the colors fully saturated as you work… Overall, I am very impressed with the Da Vinci Alkyds and would certainly recommend them over other alkyds any day. They are truly artist's quality alkyd paints artists have been waiting for." - Brian Firth, Artist See More
