The formula is an update on a recipe used by French Impressionist Edgar Degas. It seals and protects your artwork while leaving colors brilliant! Degas Fixative is perfect for chemically sensitive people. You can spray it indoors and keep on working because the fixative does not release toxic fumes or odors. The spray dries to a hard, water-resistant, matte finish; and provides the traction you need to apply extra layers of dry media. There are no toxic fumes or odors You may spray the fixative on all papers (except LaCarte), primed and unprimed canvas, wood panels, unglazed ceramic, stone, leather, and glass. SpectraFix it the ideal fixative for soft pastel, Pan Pastel and oil pastel, colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, and chalk. You can even use the fixative to layer other media into Encaustic. SpectraFix Concentrate is perfect for artists wishing to control the casein or alcohol content of their fixative, or for use as a painting medium to mix directly with pigments. For those living overseas, it can easily be shipped anywhere in the world by mail. You can buy a 4oz Fine Mist spray bottle separately to mix the solution in, taking the guesswork out of measuring. Makes up to 16 oz total. How to Mix SpectraFix Concentrate Pour 1/4 bottle Concentrate into the 4oz Spray Bottle, top it off with alcohol, give it a little shake to mix it, and spray! You can also use it as a painting medium straight out of the bottle. You may mix with any clear, colorless, unsweetened alcohol. If you wish to have less water and more alcohol in your mixture for faster evaporation or use on thinner papers, you can use strong alcohol such as 90% Everclear and dilute it with 1/3 water. Rubbing (Isopropyl) alcohol does work too, but must be tested with a small amount of the concentrate first to ensure that it does not cause the casein to coagulate into lumps. Some alcohol manufacturers use strong acids to make the alcohol, and the chemistry affects the casein proteins. Be sure to read the label to check the strength of the rubbing alcohol. You can dilute 91% by mixing it with 1/2 – 1/3rd its volume of water, which will yield a 45% – 60% alcohol strength. Just be sure to test it first! * Rapid drying pastel fixative * Contains casein * Protects fragile dry media * Prevents underpainting from smudging * No toxic fumes * 100% Archival * Non-yellowing * It does not dull colors * You can paint over it See More

Measure out 1-part blue component (resin) to one-part white component (hardener). Mix quickly (30 seconds) by rolling the mixture into a ball shape. The mixed dough should have a light blue uniform color. Press the object that you would like to cast into the paste on a flat level surface. Allow the Siligum Molding Paste to set for about 5 min at a temperature of about 73 degrees (23 °C). To have more time for application, place the paste in the refrigerator for around one hour before making the mixture. Once the silicone has hardened, remove the object from the mold and pour the cast material (plaster, crystal resin, reconstituted stone) into the mold. You can reuse the impression as long as the silicone form remains usable. See More
