GOLDEN Acrylic AdditivesSave Up to30%Off list…Perfect For: * Acrylic painting * Minimizing paint waste * Classroom, home, and studio * Teachers and students * All acrylic-friendly surfaces The retarder does not contain binding agents. To ensure adhesion, the addition of Retarder should not exceed 15% (1:6)when mixed with colors or mediums. Reduce surface tension and increase paint flow Additives serve a similar function to mediums. The difference is that additives don't contain acrylic binders (like mediums do), so you must follow the label and use them in correct proportions. Most mediums can be added to the paint in any amount until you've achieved the desired effect, but additives can weaken the color and adhesion of the paint when overused. GOLDEN offers these two additives, which are a useful addition to any painters studio. Wetting Agent: Formerly known as Acrylic Flow Release - an additive used to reduce the surface tension of the water in the acrylic emulsion, thereby increasing the slickness and flow of the paint. It is useful for achieving rich stains on a porous surface. Not for use by children. Retarder: an additive used to increase the open (drying) time of acrylic paints. Useful for wet on wet techniques and reducing skinning on the palette. Key Features: * Increase open time * Reduce the surface tension of acrylic emulsion * Improve the slickness and flow of paint * No acrylic binders * Use them in correct proportions * Click the yellow circle icon for product information Perfect For: * Acrylic painting * Minimizing paint waste * Classroom, home, and studio * Teachers and students * All acrylic-friendly surfaces The retarder does not contain binding agents. It's sprayed onto touch-dry paint to soften edges, blend colors, and remove paint. Please note that the Unlocking Formula will not work on cured paints. Pouring Medium: Designed for extreme fluid effects and pouring techniques. Self-leveling and dries to a gloss finish. The best paint to use with this medium is Atelier Free Flow. Fast Medium/Fixer: Is designed to speed up the Interactive Acrylic painting process by quickly fixing a paint layer. You can use it to dilute the paint for glazing and thin painting techniques. Fast Medium/Fixer will speed up the layering process. Excellent for fast glazing and quick layering techniques. Slow Medium: Atelier Slow Medium slows down the drying time when added to Atelier Interactive Acrylic paint. You can thin the viscosity of your Interactive paint while also giving yourself more time to work. Ideal for larger paintings. It tacks up quickly, but it can easily be brought back to a more fluid stage by spraying it with water. Thick Slow Medium: has a gel-like consistency that is useful when artists want to have more blending time but do not want a thinner paint. You can use Thick Slow Medium for spreading and diluting paint without making it thin or runny. The concentrated medium is best used in small amounts. Just add to your palette when you want to maximize viscosity, and keep your Atelier Interactive Acrylic paints open for an extended period. Heavy Gel Gloss: A thick, water-based, glossy acrylic gel medium designed to create texture in acrylic painting. Heavy Gel Gloss creates a more translucent and buttery paint and increases gloss levels. It can also be used as an adhesive to bond other materials to the painting. *Note that the Heavy Gel Gloss uses conventional fast-drying technology, but it can take quite some time to dry when they are applied thickly. Clear Painting Medium: is one of the most popular mediums in acrylic painting. It is used with the paint to dilute the viscosity and blend colors without losing pigment intensity. This mid-viscosity medium allows the paint to spread over a surface for more blendable gradations of color. Retarder: slows down the drying process when added to acrylics and mediums. Retarder is particularly useful when painting wet-over-wet or wet-over-dry techniques. About 10% addition to any of the three mediums above can be useful for painting outdoors or in very dry conditions. See More

It is a clear, colorless liquid. It cleans up easily with water. This medium can be use with both Akua Liquid Pigments and Akua Intaglio Inks.* Extender - It is used to thin Akua Liquid Pigment if it has become too thick due to an extended open time. It is a thick liquid in consistency, and transparent in color. This medium can only be used with Akua Liquid Pigments.* Mag Mix (Ink Stiffener) - This medium was formerly called Mag Mix. When mixed with Akua Intaglio, this medium adds depth and stiffens the ink. It is clear/white in color with a very stiff consistency. Mag Mix cleans up easily with liquid dish detergent. This medium can only be used with Akua Intaglio Inks.* Pigment Retarder - This medium has two purposes. First, it helps transfer ink onto dry paper when a few drops are mixed into Akua Liquid Pigments. Secondly, it also extends the working time of Akua Liquid Pigments. It is a clear liquid, and cleans up easily with water. This medium can only be used with Akua Liquid Pigments.* Pigment Tack Thickener - This medium thickens Akua Liquid Pigment for heavier roll-up applications. It's consistency is not as thick as Transparent Base or Akua Intaglio ink. It is medium amber in color, has a thick consistency, and cleans up easily with soapy water. A ghost print is the second print from a monotype plate that has been inked only one time. It is a lighter version of the same image. By rolling Release Agent over the plate, it helps to transfer the remaining ink off the plate and onto another sheet of paper. Third, it helps soften the metallic ink so it can easily transfer off the plate and onto the paper. Roll Akua Release Agent over the metallic ink that was applied to the plate. It looks white in the jar but rolls up clear and colorless. It has a soft, buttery consistency and cleans up easily with liquid dish detergent. This medium can be used with Akua Intaglio Inks and Akua Liquid Pigments.* Transparent Base - This medium is Akua Intaglio Ink without the pigment. Adding Akua Liquid Pigment to Transparent Base will thicken Akua Liquid Pigment and create new intaglio or relief colors. Adding Akua Intaglio ink to this base will increase ink transparency. It is a light amber in color and has a thick consistency. This medium can be used with Akua Intaglio Inks and Akua Liquid Pigments. See More
