Claessens Linen #15 Single Oil Primed Medium Texture Cut Piece, 18" x 41"Save Up to69%Off listWhite Claessens Oil Primed Medium Textured Linen Rolls Feature Meticulous Craftsmanship - Their Most Popular All-Purpose Surfaces! Claessens Linen Rolls provide artists with optimal professional quality in painting surfaces and craftsmanship. Each specific primed linen type passed through its own set of manufacturing steps and quality control, resulting in the premium painting surfaces Claessens is renowned for. After receiving the raw linens, quality control carefully inspects the entire surface for weaving faults. Abnormally thick threads are scrupulously removed. Next, two layers of synthetic adhesive are applied. Each layer is dried on the canvas in a warm-air oven. For oil primed canvases, zinc white is used as the first coat, bound with linseed oil; carefully applied to the glued linen with trowel-like knives. Then the canvas is sanded and a layer with a titanium white base is applied in the same fashion, then placed in a drying room for 3 days to air dry naturally. Double primed canvases undergo the same process again, as do additional primings. After the final coating is applied, the canvas is moved back to the drying room for 10 days. The finished canvases are then again carefully inspected one last time before they are place on rolls and stocked in the warehouse. There, the rolls are put into boxes or tubes for shipping. These stringent, painstaking steps create an archival, exceptional linen canvas worthy of your finest masterpiece! Centurion Deluxe Oil Primed Archival Linen Panel - 4" x 6" (Pack of 12)Save Up to84%Off listWhite Master Quality Archival Deluxe Linen Panels! Superb performance and color retention! Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming As an oil colorist, it is important to work on oil-primed surfaces and not universally primed surfaces. The reason is that universal primed surfaces are semi-absorbent. Gesso is absorbent even if it is plate smooth. The paint does not get absorbed as much and sits on the surface more making it easy to blend and manipulate. Granted, it is not highly absorbent, but the fact remains that some oil will get into the primer and flatten the image. You can get around this by using an under-painting oil ground on top of the surface of a universal ground canvas, but this is very time-consuming and expensive. Our primer does not contain zinc or lead. The main ingredients used in the coating of these panels are acrylic emulsion, titanium pigment, calcium carbonate, and alkyd resin. Unlike universal ground, our oil priming chemically bonds with the oil paint and is non-absorbent allowing the paint to sit up on the surface with the correct refraction quality of the oil binder. If you use any high-quality oil color, we urge you to use an oil-primed surface, and now we make it affordable! Exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming! Centurion Deluxe Professional Oil Primed Linen Panels, specifically designed for oil painters. Superb receptive surface accepts even the thinnest oil color lay down without fragmenting on the surface and is a permanent surface as colors adhere better on it than any other oil primed canvas on the market today! Acid-free and archival, the primed medium-textured linen is cleanly wrapped and adhered to a solid 3mm MDF wood board. Key Features: * Acid-free, Archival Linen Panels * 11oz. Oil Primed * Made of medium weight linen * Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming * Mounted on 3mm (1/8") MDF wood board * Medium weight and texture * Non warping Perfect For: * Artists of all skill levels * Oil and Alkyd Painting * Archival Longevity * Linen Lovers expecting the best! * Professional Artists, Commissioned work * Traveling, takes up 1/4 the space of a 3/4" canvas For a good value on a smooth linen panel, this is it! The fine linen weave makes details easy when painting still life. Our Centurion canvas is used throughout the world by serious artists ranging from dedicated students to the most world-famous artists. Teachers and famous artists asked us to try to come up with an affordable oil-primed linen canvas. Not only did we wow them with quality but we also wowed them with the final price.
