When added to acrylic paint, they modify the paint handling characteristics, appearance or volume to produce an infinite variety of effects. Liquitex Gel Mediums can add texture, enhance color and increase transparency within your work. Gels also add "open time" as they tend to dry slower than thinner paint films. These mediums also modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and, since they contain acrylic resins, tend to improve adhesion and durability. Modeling Pastes are thick acrylic gel blended with marble dust for a strong durable, opaque texture. Great for collage and mixed media. Super Heavy Gel (Matte)- A super thick gel which retains high-peaks and crisp brush and knife strokes with little shrinkage.
