Michelle is the daughter of an artist and attended the University of Michigan to get her degree in painting and has been a professional free lance artist ever since. Michelle considers herself a realist, impressionist and abstract artist. She creates visible brush strokes and textures that allow two different ways to enjoy the painting. Up close her paintings are impressionistic, but from a distance, they almost look like photographs. The feeling of place is what Michelle is most interested in communicating through her landscape paintings. She presents to the viewer a sense of the time of day through the quality of light and to feel the temperature of the air. Scenes of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area are Michelle's favorite subject matter, “The water in Lake Tahoe can be deep blue, silver, or aqua green depending on the day and the clarity of the water is amazing!” Along with her own gallery Michelle has representation in several galleries across the US including Montana, California, Oregon, Michigan and Massachusetts.
