The metallic colors turn opaque once dry and look particularly good on dark surfaces. Adding a few drops of classic color to SILVER METAL can create more metallic shades. Duochrome effect: The Duochrome colors change depending on movement and light. There are three shade combinations: Pink/Blue, Blue/Green, and Yellow/Purple. The effect appears best on dark surfaces. If you are customizing a light surface, apply a black undercoat. Glitter effect: Three glitter colors round off the range: Gold Glitter, Silver Glitter, and Iridescent Glitter. These colors are highly laden with glitter for a very shimmery look. Use them as a transparent layer on the surface, work on a base, or mix with the color. They must be applied with a brush (not compatible with an airbrush). When wet, the result is "cloudy," but this effect disappears when it dries to reveal the sparkling effect of the glitter. Fluorescent effect: This category includes two colors: Fluorescent Yellow and Fluorescent Pink. Since they have a transparent base, these colors should be applied to a light background. Phosphorescent effect: To create a glow-in-the-dark effect, apply the phosphorescent leather paint in thick layers. The effect will be all the better if it has been exposed to light beforehand. Setacolor Glue: Glue is an auxiliary for bonding cotton, leather, polyester, etc., with pearls, powders, or beads. You should only apply the glue to the necessary areas, and we recommend gluing directly without waiting for it to dry. It is crucial to remove any residues before the glue dries. Setacolor Masking Fluid: Masking Fluid is a peelable drawing gum perfect for defining paint-free areas on leather. Apply in a thick layer. Drying time varies depending on the thickness of the coating, but it should take approximately 30 minutes (Use a hair dryer to speed up drying). The bluish color helps to identify the masked areas and darkens when drying. You can apply it directly to the surface and then paint over it once the gum is dry. Alternatively, you can draw with the gum over an already applied color and cover the masking gum with another color to have a colored masked area instead of coloring the bare surface. Once dry, peel or rub the gum off with your fingers within a maximum of 15 days after application. Apply a thin layer of color to the dry masking gum to obtain clean lines after peeling or rubbing off. You can clean the brush with soapy water. Setacolor Matt-Satin and Gloss Varnishes: Protective varnishes must be applied to the work for optimal and long-lasting results. Available in 2 finishes: matt/satin or gloss. The varnish will help to seal the color perfectly, protecting your creation from rubbing, scratches, wear and tear, and water. They can be applied with a brush for an entirely uniform finish or with an airbrush without prior dilution for a shiny varnish and mixed 50:50 water and varnish for a matt-satin effect. The matt-satin varnish must be well mixed before use. It is recommended to wait 24 hours before varnishing. Tip: Mixing matt-satin and gloss varnishes can achieve the desired finish. Designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint Just because oil and water don't mix in your kitchen doesn't mean there aren't other methods to make them happy in each other's company. A most effective route is through the addition of a chemical emulsifier that has an attraction on one side of the molecule for water and, on the other, for oil. The result? A happy match made, if not in heaven, at least in the laboratory. Mix with Water - Artisan provides all the characteristics expected from conventional oil color: High pigment strength, a high proportion of single pigments, and variable opacity. The key difference is their ability to be mixed with water even though they are made with traditional oil binders. Chemical analysis has indicated that any added water fully leaves the paint film within a short time; no water remains "trapped" to weaken or loosen the color on the canvas. Drying Time- The water evaporates out of the paint film fairly rapidly leaving behind a conventional oil color that dries by oxidation, as normal. Adhesion and drying time have been shown to be comparable to conventional oil color. Research has also shown that the dried Artisan film is similar to a conventional oil film in solvent resistance, yet remains slightly softer than conventional colors, offering increased flexibility, which is a very good thing. Your canvas can flex with changes in temperature and humidity; a paint film that will go along with it will better resist cracking or lifting.
