The system not only allows for tightening if needed with the Spanner hardware, but easily breaks down so that artwork can be rolled & tubed, with stretchers placed in a separate tube for ease of shipping. Lighter in weight than heavy duty wood stretcher bars, the Museo ALU Frame Stretchers provide a crisp, true-to-square system that is truly revolutionary in construction & what options it affords artists, especially those who ship larger work to galleries, collectors, & clients. Cross bars can be added at any time without disassembling, and the system is so strong that no cross braces are needed on sizes up to 48" x 96"! The trees are mainly grown for the latex sap they produce, but once the tree reaches the end of its lifecycle and stops excreting sap, the wood is harvested for processing. New trees are planted to replace the trees that are harvested. Bamboo is also a remarkable green material because it prevents soil erosion, supplies biofuel, and provides a wholesome food source for wildlife. Bamboo produces more oxygen and can absorb more carbon dioxide compared to an equivalent tree mass. Additionally, it does not take very long to regrow a bamboo crop.
