Colorless, flexible, and non-yellowing, Final Fixative is fast-drying and is appropriate for use on paper, photographs, printed materials, and ceramics. Grumbacher Workable Fixative is a matte spray used to fix traditional dry media or dried designers gouache for additional layers of media. To prevent your paint from beading up on a non-porous surface like acetate, you can prepare the surface with workable fixative. Workable Fixative was initially developed for gouache paint users. The matte fixing spray allowed artists to fix dried gouache and paint over it without reawakening the original layer of paint. Now working fixative is primarily used with dry media.
