Skin contact: As with all essential oils, you should always avoid skin contact, especially if you have skin issues. Skin contact for some people will not cause any problems, but because of the high concentration please be aware and take precautions when using Spike Oil or any other solvents. Allergies: Spike Lavender, in rare cases can be considered an allergen, as are many essential oils like Tea Tree Oil, etc. So all products containing Spike (the solvent, mediums and varnishes) see warnings regarding safety and clear directions for usage. The main reason this solvent is considered “safer” is because there are no known carcinogens or a lot of the health issues associated with Turpentine or Petroleum Mineral Spirits.
