Non-Hazardous, Low Vapour, Brush Cleaner
Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner efficiently softens and removes dried paint from brushes, palette knives, and more. The gentle, non-hazardous soap-based cleaner works within minutes for oil colors and hours for dried acrylics. Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner leaves natural and synthetic brushes soft and clean while removing all paint residue.
- Gentle, effective brush cleaner
- Soap-based formula
- Non-hazardous and low-vapor
- Foams a little when scrubbed
- Natural and synthetic brushes
- Oil, alkyd, and acrylic paint
- Removing wet and dried paint
- Cleaning palette knives and more
The new soap-based Brush Cleaner is better than the old formulation. Winsor & Newton changed the product name from 'Brush Cleaner and Restorer' to 'Brush Cleaner' to clarify the differences. The new cleaner has a soap base that foams a little when scrubbed.
Tip: Avoid contact with varnished or lacquered surfaces, such as brush handles, as the cleaner will soften any paint or stain on the handle. It's also best to use this cleaner at the end of your painting session and use a different rinse aid while painting.
Instructions: Dip the brush into the liquid and scrub a little if necessary. The resulting foam will help rinse the pigments and binders out of the brush. Then, wipe the brush with a cloth and rinse with water. If the brush is very clogged, it may be necessary to soak it for longer, possibly overnight. You can use a rubber band or clamp to suspend the brush in the liquid.
