The diary is spiral-bound, and the specially designed pages can be removed from the spine to work on. Once completely dry, you can reinsert the pages into the diary. Each page will stay protected by the glassine interleaving sheets that keep your color charts from sticking together. Another bonus is the ability to pull out an individual color chart when you need to refer back to particular colors.

Each sheet measures 9x12" from the spiral binding, with tons of room for notes and descriptions. The top of each chart has a line for writing the paint brand, date, your name, or an assignment title if it’s for a class. The diary page layout provides five rows of 7 rectangles, separated by two lines for notes and labeling. Each rectangle swatch box measures 1" x 1.5" and has a bold black line for testing transparency or separating half-tones. The 100% cotton paper is sized to accept watercolor, gouache, color pencil, pastel, oil pastel, and more!
