Join us for a live painting demo with Winsor & Newton Teaching Artist, Reuben Negron, as he discusses the versatility and essential nature of sketchbooks. Watch along as takes us on a tour though his own sketchbook collection, demonstrates his personal approaches and techniques, and expounds on the importance of keeping a sketchbook practice. This is a live event where you can get your questions answered so don’t miss out!
About Reuben Negrón:
Reuben Negrón is an American visual artist best known for his narrative watercolor paintings and charcoal drawings. His work examines the stories of the people and places he depicts through richly detailed and vulnerable scenes often grounded in themes of intimacy, identity and memory. He is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD, and the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. His work has been shown internationally with notable exhibitions in France, Spain, Norway, Australia, Los Angeles and New York. Reuben's work has been written about in articles by La Razón, Cultbytes, Hyperallergic, Juxtapoz, Huffington Post, and featured in the pages of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine. Most recently, his work was published in My Neighbor Hayao: Art Inspired by the Films of Miyazaki, published by Abrams Books. Several of his works are scheduled to be archived on the Moon as part of the digital time capsule known as the Lunar Codex.
