Schmincke Horadam Naturals Watercolor - Graphite Black, 15ml Tube

Graphite Black is a deep, neutral, dark, opaque color made from ground graphite. Graphite has been used for thousands of years, and after wet cleaning, the pigment contains a carbon content of up to 98%. The name "graphite" comes from the ancient Greek "graphein," meaning to scratch, write, draw, or paint.

The natural pigments are sometimes slightly coarser in texture, which - unlike gouache - results in a rougher, usually slightly granular surface effect. The colors aren't stiff but don't flow as easily as traditional watercolor.
