The Raffine Pencil & Charcoal Grinder is the perfect little tool for any artist working in dry media. Artists have used sandpaper and sanding blocks to clean blending tortillons and sharpen charcoal, pencils, Conte, pastels, and other drawing media for a long time. Unlike sanding blocks, the Raffine Pencil & Charcoal Grinder is the only sanding tool you'll need as the metal file is reusable. Simply wipe away residue between uses, and you are good to go!

You can securely clamp the Pencil Grinder to a surface up to one-inch thick for convenient sharpening. The bottom cup catches the dust as you sharpen, so it doesn't damage your artwork. The compact Raffine Pencil & Charcoal Grinder is 1-3/4" x 3-11/16" x 1-1/2" with a 1" x 2-1/4" sanding plate. The clamp opens three inches wide, which allows attachment to slightly deeper boards or surfaces. However, we recommend 1" or less for the most secure hold.
