Unlike natural hog bristle, Catalyst has real integrity in water. Natural bristles can be rendered useless when they are water-soaked.The true advance in Catalyst is the Polytip feature. For the first time, the tip of each individual hair has been split to replicate the natural flags on the finest natural bristle. By giving each individual hair 2 to 3 distinct tips, Catalyst is able to hold a higher volume of paint while providing a smoother application.Designed for use with medium to heavy-bodied acrylics and oil paints, Catalyst pushes even heavy gel mediums with assurance. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Princeton Catalyst Polytip Mottler Bought this brush a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! Works great with Fluid. Acrylics and Heavy Body Acrylics. Cleans easy. Nice flat handle, very easy to hold. Cleans easy. I have the entire collection of the Princeton Catalyst Polytip brushes and highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this type of brush - very firm yet plyable in just the right way I bought the Mottler brush, which is just another permutation of the fantastic Princeton Catalyst Polytip brush. I started using them recently, and since then have been collecting various styles and shapes just to add to my arsenal. The brush itself is exactly what I've been needing - each individual bristle seems to be much firmer than traditional hogs hair bristles, meaning the same amount of stiffness requires fewer bristles, resulting in a thinner profile brush. The tip ends up being a much thinner, sharper blade-like edge because it doesn't need as many bristles to be nice and stiff. And still it has just the right amount of flexibility if I press a little harder. The price is not dirt cheap, because they're a pro quality brush, but they're not too expensive either. These are very sleek and professional brushes, and as a painting professional it's well worth the investment. -Christopher Clark, professional fine artist

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brush Sets I love these brushes. My painting has improved and I have a lot more confidence since starting with these brushes. I mainly use acrylica heavy body paints and the brushes work wonderfully. My question is--Why do you not have sets of these brushes? I would be interested in sets as it would give me the chance to use some of the styles that I don't have. Michael Hicks
