Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great control! I bought one to try out and immediately bought six more to share and then a dozen and now another dozen! I have several students that I provide a small supply of watercolor supplies for and this is definitely a winner! Fine lines and so much control, easy to unplug if it gets a little stuck in it. it's like drawing with a pencil to save your fine whites. I can't say enough, I love this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than all the rest !! As a professional artist and art teacher, I have tried many brands of watercolor masking fluid. Pebeo Drawing Gum Masking Fluid was recommended to me by another art instructor. I love the consistency. It's thin enough to mask the finest lines yet easy to remove.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product I've never tried a masking fluid before. As a handletterer, I wanted to use it with a nib pen and heard this was a good product for this purpose. I had no problems with the drawing gum flowing from my nib and was able to draw little details and letters with it. It came off the paper easily. But I did have an issue with some of the paper coming up with it in a few spots. I believe it is because I used a blow dryer to dry my watercolor washes and was using an inexpensive student-grade paper. I've since learned that you should not use heat with it and a better-quality paper is always best. Also, I have heard that you should store it upside down when not in use to keep it from drying out.

Is the pen (V28205) refillable, or does it need to be thrown away and a new one purchased once empty?

Asked by: Esahnik
The pen is not refillable, you would need to purchase a new pen once this one is empty. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Drawing Gum is a peelable solution used to keep areas of artwork free, for use with ink, watercolour, diluted gouache. It is used on paper, cardboard, Bristol board, acetate, and wood, using a brush or pen on parts of the work to be masked. Apply colour when the drawing gum is dry. Once the colours are completely dry just rub the gum with your finger or with an eraser to reveal the masked parts.

The Drawing Gum marker lets you use the product more easily, with a more precise application. It must be primed before initial use, then: - with the top on, shake the marker firmly to get the ball moving, - then, on a sheet of paper, press on the tip several times to soak it with paint. If residue forms on the tip, you can remove excess material with your finger. It must be stored horizontally with the cap closed and can be kept for 12 months after it is first primed at moderate room temperature (15-25 °C). The marker is an all-in-one tool. This single solution replaces the drawing gum bottle, the paint brush and the water container. This tool is very practical due to its easy handling, its small size suitable for children's hands and its use, which only requires you to choose a surface. It is a mobile product that can be taken everywhere.
