Professionally Gessoed on our Famous AlumaComp (Aluminum) Panels - A High Quality Professional Panel for Oils & Acrylics

New York Central® has taken the wildly popular AlumaComp brand artists aluminum panel and created a made-to-order gessoed surface for the fine artist who prefers primed panels! AlumaComp's unique composition of two aluminum sides with a 1/8" polyethylene core makes them lightweight, archival, dimensionally stable and strong. Panels will never rot and are not affected by weather humidity changes or temperature fluctuations, even in transport. The light weight and slim profile is ideal for shipping, stocking pochade boxes, plein air painting, and for studio use.

Featuring a professional quality, proprietary acid-free and archival acrylic gesso, New York Central® Gesso AlumaComp Panels are meticulously hand primed by our own in-house, skilled craftsmen in our custom framing department when the order is placed. White is available with double or quadruple priming, and Rose Earth and Neutral Grey are offered double primed.
Double primed panels have a slightly textured, consistent surface, making them ideal for all types of media.
Quadruple primed white gesso finished panels offers a smoother, whiter appearance, making them perfect for any media where a smoother surface is desired.

The Professionals Panel for Oils & Acrylics - New York Central® Gesso Panels provide a surface that is ideal for oils, alkyds, acrylics, and other media that quickly build up weight that would slack stretched canvas, and bend or warp tempered or canvas covered painting panels. Brittle media like Egg Tempera and Acrylic Gouache is ideally suited for these panels, as they are the stiffest panel offered in such a slim depth. Perfect for mixed media applications, collage works, and heavy coats of acrylic texturing mediums. The gessoed surface works wonderfully with drawing media and charcoals,oil painting sticks, oil pastels, and crayon.

Rose Earth and Neutral Grey primed colors have been carefully formulated under the guidance of professional painters, designed to match traditional, classically colored grounds. Featuring complete color consistency from batch to batch, the tone can be depended on for easily seeing values when painting. Perfect for chiaroscuro techniques, landscapes, portraits, still life, and more.
