The ultimate sharpener! The KUM Masterpiece sharpener creates the longest point of any hand-held manual pencil sharpener on the market. It features a machined magnesium body and a removable automatic brake. Once the brake is removed, you can sharpen away a pencil’s woodcasing and expose its graphite core for shading, extended writing, and advanced graphite manipulation. Each masterpiece sharpener comes in a storage pouch with two replacement blades.

Designed to give you a very long, sharp point, in two stages, by firstly stripping the wood away from the lead (hole number 1) and then by honing the resulting stick of lead to a needle-sharp 8° point (hole number 2).

To sharpen the pencil, using Hole 1 will sharpen away the wood. On a perfectly centered pencil, you'll get nothing but core, still as blunt as when you put it in. Once you've hit the blue "stop" at the end of the sharpener body, stage 1 is done and you move onto Hole 2. If you remove the blue stop, you can continue to remove wood in Hole 1 for as long as you want.
