The Derwent Onyx pencil is made from smooth dark graphite to instantly create a dense, rich jet-black tone, even darker than a Graphic 9B. The Derwent Onyx pencil is perfect for quick sketching, or detailed technical and architectural drawings. Build up deep tones by applying increased pressure. Less pressure will achieve lighter tones for precise work. It is available in a Medium and a Dark tone.
These pencils have a matte black 8mm diameter barrel and a non-crumbly 4mm core. Ideal for hatching, it will sharpen and hold a fine point for longer. Plus, it will smudge to blend it with your finger or a tortillon. The Derwent Onyx works well with all our graphite pencils, particularly 9H.
