Designed to perform effortlessly with QoR Watercolors, these watercolor mediums exist to expand the abilities of any watercolor paint. Included in this line of watercolor mediums are an array transformation possibilities, such as the Light Dimensional Ground, which turns watercolors into a paste-like substance for added texture, or the Lift Aid, which awards artists the ability to lift watercolors, even after they have dried. Made with top quality materials, QoR Watercolor Mediums are sure to impress watercolorists of any skill level! * Synthetic Ox Gall (59 ml) - Synthetic Ox Gall is a wetting agent that improves the flow of watercolors. Adding 2-5 drops to your water makes paints easier to apply and blend when creating washes. Wetting paper with the water/Synthetic Ox Gal mixture will assist in creating clean, uniform washes and improves wetting on hard sized papers. * Watercolor Medium (59 ml) - Watercolor Medium is a general all-purpose medium used to increase the transparency and flow of watercolors. If used in larger amounts it will also increase the gloss and saturation of the colors. * Lift Aid™ (118 ml) - Lift Aid™ is a fluid medium that is applied to the surface and improves the lifting of watercolors. May be applied to paper before painting or between washes. * Watercolor Ground (237 ml) - Watercolor Ground is an acrylic primer that creates a porous surface similar to hot press paper on many different materials, including canvas and panels. It dries to an absorbent, lightfast and flexible surface that can endure repeated lifting and scrubbing. Allows for a full range of watercolor techniques, including wash and staining effects. It can also be brushed on to return stained areas to an absorbent white surface. * Light Dimensional Ground (237 ml) - Light Dimensional Ground is a white, lightweight paste that can be spread like frosting. It can be applied smooth and thinly, or built up to create ridges, peaks and other interesting textures. The extremely absorbent surface of Light Dimensional Ground allows color washes to spread quickly, yet allows the artist to create fine lines and detail as well. Dropping color into lightly wetted areas can create beautiful blooms. Creativity & Control The concept of QoR Watercolors does not end with colors. Like every product that comes from GOLDEN, the idea of equipping artists to realize their creative vision inspires our products. QoR Mediums help extend and enhance the creative range and control of watercolors, whether the objective is modulating colors through lifting with Lift Aidâ„¢, extending colors to their most distant point with Watercolor Medium, or unleashing the flow of colors with Synthetic Ox Gall. Where our mediums carry forward traditional painting techniques QoR Grounds brings a totally new wave of expression to watercolors. Watercolor Ground quickly transforms nearly any surface into an absorbent bright white painting surface similar to hot-press papers, while Light Dimensional Ground transforms the surface with texture to a lustrous modeled surfaces that you design. Mount Vision Soft Pastels Set of 25 - Flesh TonesSave Up to38%Off listPortrait Colors Beautiful, hand-made soft pastels! Mount Vision Handmade Soft Pastels consist of the highest quality pigments with the addition of chalk, talc, or clay and binders. Various combinations, depending on pigment, create different handling properties. The Mount Vision Pastel Company was founded in 2000, by artist Karl Kelly (a former paint maker for a small oil paint company). Handmade in small batches in Mount Vision, New York, the pastels possess a wonderfully soft and buttery feel. The pigment easily releases to the pastel surface with little resistance, allowing layers to build without becoming slick. Mount Vision Handmade Soft Pastels are consistently tested to achieve the best feel and color intensity for each pastel color. Mount Vision utilizes both traditional and synthetic pigments, which make great substitutes for traditional painting pigments that are health hazards to use in pastels (such as cadmiums, cobalts, etc.) Mount Vision's manufacturing process is simple and straightforward, creating a truly handmade product with great love and care by dedicated craftsmen. First, the pigments and chalks(or other binder) are weighed out on a scale, and then placed in an industrial sized mixing bowl. The mixture is fully mixed to the consistency of cookie dough, and then put through a sausage stuffer, where it is extruded onto wood boards. The boards are placed outside to dry the long pastel lines a little, to firm them slightly before handling. Once ready, the pastel lines are cut to size and then carefully rolled by hand to create a more uniform shape. The finished pastels are then placed on a drying rack to cure before hand labeling. Key Features:* Created from the finest traditional and synthetic pigments* Handmade by craftsmen in small batches in the U.S.* Pastels possess a soft, “buttery” feel in use* No hazardous pigments used Perfect For:* Serious Pastel Artists* Artists supporting U.S. Made manufacturers* Pastelists desiring softer pastels* Handmade pastel aficionados The beauty of Mount Vision’s color selection and color values is by other manufacturers that make a handmade product. Drawing on his extensive painting and printmaking background, Karl Kelly carefully designed the color palettes and selections to create every color imaginable a pastelist could imagine, from the palest color values to the most vibrant brights and darkest darks. Sold in both open stock individually and as sets. Health and Safety Statement from Mount Vision Pastel Company: If you have any Health and Safety questions please do not hesitate to Call 888 413-2009. Your health is our biggest concern. At Mount Vision Pastels we use no heavy metal pigments such as Cobalt or Cadmium. Because of the nature of pastels, i.e.. drawing directly with the pigment with very little binder, I question the use of these pigments. With the advances in the manufacture of synthetic pigments I feel that there are alternatives available for use that will serve the artist as well without the possible side effects. That said probably the biggest concern for pastelists is the pigment dust created by them. Whenever possible it is better to clean dust with a wet rag, sponge, or paper towel than to sweep it up (which causes more dust). Care should be taken if using a vacuum as often the pigment is finer than the bag and can blow through causing quite a dust storm. See More
