John Sabraw and engineer Guy Riefler figured out how to extract iron from the polluted rivers, restore ecosystems, and create economic opportunities in communities struggling with environmental damage left behind by the coal mining industry. By purchasing this limited edition set you are supporting hard-working communities and helping make the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers healthier ecosystems. Is Gamblin Oil Paint Professional Grade? Gamblin Artist's Oil Paints are Professional Grade made with refined linseed oil! Gamblin always wanted to give artists color at its maximum with a luscious texture. Richeson's Shiva Series Oils are formulated to please even the most discerning artists. Not only that, but The Shiva Series Oils are guaranteed not to darken, yellow, fade, or crack. Key Features: * Professional quality oils * Brilliant, rich colors * Buttery, reliable consistency * High level of permanency * Resistant to fading, darkening, yellowing, and cracking * Made in small batches in Wisconsin * Each pure pigment is ground to its own degree of fineness Perfect For: * Professional oil painters * Painting vibrant portraits * Accurately reflecting the hues of nature * Artists wanting the best experience Professionally formulated to satisfy the most discerning master painter! Each pure Richeson pigment is ground to its own correct degree of fineness and formulated under exacting laboratory controls. . During the manufacturing process, great care is taken to avoid overworking the pigment. The amount of time required for the milling process varies for each color – anywhere from six hours to three days. The amount of oil required for each pigment varies because each pigment absorbs at a different rate. Richeson uses only pure, artist-grade, dry pigments. The finest grade of alkali-refined linseed oil is used to make non-yellowing colors. This type of oil is well-known for its excellent color stability. “Straw" in color, the oil has a minimal effect on pigment colorization and will not darken with age. Certain colors, such as whites, flesh colors, ice blue, and brilliant yellow light, use safflower oil. With these sensitive pigments that yellow easily, safflower oil produces a much better non-yellowing color. Where appropriate, we use a blend of linseed and safflower oil, producing the best possible finished product. Click on the item number to view the contents of each set. See More

Centurion Deluxe Oil Primed 20"x24" Linen Panel, 3 PackSave Up to84%Off listWhite Master Quality Archival Deluxe Linen Panels! Superb performance and color retention! Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming As an oil colorist it is important to work on oil primed surfaces and not universal primed surfaces. The reason is that universal primed surfaces are semi-absorbent. Gesso is absorbent even if it is plate smooth. The paint does not get absorbed as much and sits on the surface more making it easy to blend and manipulate. Granted it is not highly absorbent but the fact remains that some oil will get into the primer and flatten the image. You can get around this by using an under-painting oil ground on top of the surface of a universal ground canvas but this is very time consuming and expensive. Unlike universal ground, our oil priming chemically bonds with the oil paint and is non-absorbent allowing the paint to sit up on the surface with the correct refraction quality of the oil binder. If you use any high-quality oil color we urge you to use an oil primed surface and now we make it affordable! Exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming! Centurion Deluxe Professional Oil Primed Linen Panels, specifically designed for oil painters. Superb receptive surface accepts even the thinnest oil color lay down without fragmenting on the surface and is a permanent surface as colors adhere better on it than any other oil primed canvas on the market today! Centurion Deluxe Oil Primed 20"x24" Linen Canvas .67" Deep (Box of 6)Save Up to64%Off listWhite Master Quality Archival Deluxe Stretched Canvas! Superb Performance And Color Retention! Exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming! As an oil painter, it is important to work on oil primed surfaces. First, oil on oil will provide the best chemical bond for the paint layers that go on, afterwards. Secondly, gesso are acrylic based, and either repel oil if they have too high of a resin base, or absorb the oil too much if it is too matte, making color sink and look dull and lifeless. Oil priming allows the color to sit cleanly and brightly on the surface, with refraction of the white from below. Centurion’s affordable (OP DLX) oil primed canvas is a great way to start painting with not only an oil primer, but the luxurious texture and archival tradition of linen! Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming! Oil Primed Linen, Deluxe Professional Stretched Canvas (OP DLX) Back stapled to allow for easy re-keying or re-stretching, Centurion Canvases have 4 paintable edges for frameless or floater frame presentation.
