Old Holland canvases are made exclusively from Claessens Linen, crafted from woven natural flax from Belgium. They grow, sort, and process the materials needed with the greatest care. These are truly natural products, with small differences in their color, composition, and non-mechanical surface feel, leading to a beautifully unique end product. Old Holland Claessens Oil Primed Belgian Linen Canvas features 100% Belgian linen prepared with two coats of oil primer and then stretched around robust 13/16" stretcher bars and back-stapled to the frame for optimum strength. Both Old Holland and Claessens have over a century of craftsmanship behind their names, and are both considered leaders in their specific fields.
