Old Holland Oil Color - Old Holland Violet Grey, 475ml CanSave Up to44%Off listViolet Considered one of the Finest Oil Paints In the World! Manufacturing pigments since 1664, Old Holland Classic Oil Colors are still considered today as one of the top oil paints in the world! Boasting artists like Van Gogh, Vermeer, and other Dutch Masters that used their pigments and paints, Old Holland uses only pure, cold-pressed linseed oil as a binder with the highest possible pigment loads, creating brilliantly concentrated paints that provide exceptional covering power, strength of color, and color intensity. All Old Holland Classic Oil Paints are completely lightfast except for the Madder Lakes and Cremnitz White, which are nearly lightfast. All Old Holland oils are manufactured using stone rollers only, as the colors of the paint will not change due to metal oxidations (which will alter Cadmium colors). All colors are completely free of cheap fillers and artificial dryers like other premium paints contain. Although Old Holland Oils initially may seem very expensive, the heavy concentration of pigment is actually an exceptional value, given the covering power of the paint and minimum amount needed for color mixing. One tube of their highest possible concentration of pigment equals the pigment contained in 2 to three tubes of other professional brands! Old Holland Classic Oil Colors come in 40ml and 225ml tubes. Cremnitz White, Flake White, Mixed White, Titanium White, and Zinc White can be purchased in 125ml and 225ml tubes, as well as 475ml cans. Blockx Oil Color 35 ml Tube - Mars VioletSave Up to65%Off listViolet Finest Quality Artists' Oil Colors Made and processed by the Blockx family in Belgium, still handground in the Blockx tradition with slowly rotating stone mills, our extra-fine artists' colors are made from the finest selection of pigments and oil. Only pure pigment is used for maximum lightfastness, buttery consistency and easy mixing on the canvas itself. All colors have a minimum lightfast rating 7 out of 8 on the blue wool scale. So they all can be considered perfectly lightfast. Iron oxides, earths and blacks are ground with linseed oil. All other pigments are ground with poppyseed oil which is well-known for its lack of yellowing and the non-forming of wrinkles at the time of the drying. As an oil colorist you deserve the very best colors to paint with. Blockx has been made in the same way in Belgium by family members for over 140 years. Today, Blockx is the oldest artist paint manufacturer continuously run and operated by a family. The story began when Jacques Blockx, a noted chemist, was asked by his artist friends to make reliable oil colors that would be permanent and extremely expressive. His formulas for permanent and lightfast colors are legendary and carefully guarded by the Blockx family today, who still test each batch of color to personally insure absolute quality and satisfaction. Key Features:* Slowly stone ground in pure Poppy Seed Oil* 84 colors available in 35ml & 200ml tubes* The preferred color of Rene Magritte, Salvador Dali and Frank Stella* All colors have a minimum lightfast rating 7 out of 8* Made from the finest selection of pigments and oil* Maximum lightfastness, buttery consistency and easy mixing on the canvas* Iron oxides, earths and blacks are ground with linseed oil* Other pigments are ground with poppyseed oil* Lack of yellowing and the non-forming of wrinkles at the time of the drying* Colors produced in maximum color concentration Perfect For:* Colors in still life that deliver consistent results* Fine quality paint that moves beautifully* Beginner to Professional artists* Amazing pigment load* Color that holds it's tone beautifully when mixed with titanium white* Use in studios or professional classrooms New: historical pigments handground with poppyseed oil; Vermillon, Naples yellow light, Naples yellow dark, Lapis Lazuli How Blockx Oils Are Made Using Blockx oils is a tactile experience—they are creamy yet firm, and allow the artist to feel the color with brush or painting knife. Indeed Blockx is a bit expensive, but these paints are worth every penny. An investment in Blockx is an investment in your art and truly one that will pay dividends in the future. Mixing: Pigments, oil, generally poppyseed oil, and specific ingredients are pre-mixed according to their particular nature to achieve the best paste for milling. Grounding: The paste is ground on a three roll mill made of stone rolls, to preserve the purity of paints, rotating at low speed to avoid heating. This operation is conducted 3 or 4 times-each time reducing the size of particles-allowing us to fill the tube immediately to preserve all the qualities of the paint. Test: Besides the long experience of the craftsman, numerous checks are made of particle size, consistency, drying time, density, and so more. A sample of each batch is carefully kept for years. R&F Pigment Stick 188ml - Manganese VioletSave Up to20%Off listViolet Handmade oil paints in a convenient drawing stick form! R&F Pigment Sticks are oil paints manufactured with enough wax for the paint to be molded into stick form. Pigment Sticks allow the artist to draw or paint directly onto a surface without brushes, palettes, paint tubes or solvents. Blending only traditional materials: finely milled pigments, natural wax (beeswax & plant wax), and alkali refine linseed oil, R&F Pigment Sticks have none of the additives, extenders, and substitutes that traditional tube oils contain. While the use of these adulterations can save a lot of work and reduce the cost of materials, they lower the quality of the paint. Consequently the formulas are complex and manufacturing is labor intensive, and thus handmade in small batches where they are carefully milled and molded. The result is a professional quality oil Pigment Stick with a buttery, lipstick-like soft consistency that glides onto the painting surface. Paint Sticks can be thinned with traditional solvents, mixed with or used under or over traditional oils, or worked with a palette knife to a softer consistency to allow brushing or knifing onto a surface. Curing to a durable film like standard oils, Pigment Sticks can also be used with Encaustic paints for a variety of effects. Blending sticks are offered in two types, and are colorless sticks that can be worked into a Pigment Stick color to increase transparency, or blend colors together on the painting. Like with traditional oils, R&F Pigment Sticks should be used on primed surfaces that are oil or acrylic gesso primed, to protect the surface from the natural acid in linseed oil. What is the difference between R&F Pigment Sticks and Oil Pastels? Although both are made with pigments, waxes, and oils, they are completely different! Oil pastels typically contain a much higher wax content than an oil stick or bar, and are manufactured with a non-drying oil such as mineral oil or castor oil. Works done in Pigment Stick will oxidize (dry) over time like traditional oil paints, whereas oil pastels will always remain tacky and never dry, thus needing the protection of glass to protect the finished work. Explore the versatility and loosely gestural qualities this medium has to offer, with professional quality Pigment Sticks from R&F! Key Features: * Made solely of pigment, pure alkali refined linseed oil, and purified plant and bees waxes * Lipstick-like, soft creamy consistency * Contains no additives, extenders, or substitutes like tube oils * 2 types of Blending sticks for colorless blending * Perfect For: * Use with Traditional Oils and Encaustic Paints * Gestural drawing with oils in stick form * Immediacy of paint without the need for brushes or tools * Works on any surface primed for traditional oils * Thinning with solvents and oil mediums See More
