GOLDEN Gesso is designed to penetrate supports and provide a surface to which paint can adhere. Proper preparation with GOLDEN Gesso increases the life span of artwork. GOLDEN's Gesso is formulated to be flexible and is highly pigmented for greater opacity. White Gesso (Semi-Opaque Acrylic Primer) and Black Gesso (Opaque Acrylic Primer) The gesso is rich, opaque, and creates an excellent surface on which to paint! * GOLDEN White and Black Gesso: White Gesso (Semi-Opaque Acrylic Primer) and Black Gesso (Opaque Acrylic Primer) are ready-to-use formulations for painting on most surfaces. They are flexible and can be applied in thin layers to conform to a variety to textures without cracking. For oil painting, we recommended that at least three layers of gesso. Gesso can be mixed with acrylic colors to produce a range of colored grounds. It contains high levels of titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate and talc to produce an easily sanded surface. NOTE: This product is designed for rigid substrates only and is NOT to be used on flexible materials, as cracking may occur.
