Formulated for surfaces traditionally considered difficult to print on (such as synthetic fabric, leather, wood and vinyl), these innovative and unique water-based inks raise the bar for versatility. It is a thick liquid in consistency, and transparent in color. This medium can only be used… Expand the creative possibilities of Akua Inks with Akua Mediums! These Akua Mediums are perfect for altering the creative properties of Akua Intaglio Inks and Akua Liquid Pigments. Whether you require a thinner or thicker consistency, a longer or shorter open time, or the ability to create "ghost prints", these mediums have you covered! Several of these mediums can be used with both Akua Intaglio Inks and Akua Liquid Pigments.* Blending Medium - It is used to thin ink for brushwork, wash effects or use it as a resist for viscosity monotypes. It is a clear, colorless liquid. It cleans up easily with water. This medium can be use with both Akua Liquid Pigments and Akua Intaglio Inks.* Extender - It is used to thin Akua Liquid Pigment if it has become too thick due to an extended open time. It is a thick liquid in consistency, and transparent in color. This medium can only be used with Akua Liquid Pigments.* Mag Mix (Ink Stiffener) - This medium was formerly called Mag Mix. When mixed with Akua Intaglio, this medium adds depth and stiffens the ink. It is clear/white in color with a very stiff consistency. Mag Mix cleans up easily with liquid dish detergent. This medium can only be used with Akua Intaglio Inks.* Pigment Retarder - This medium has two purposes. First, it helps transfer ink onto dry paper when a few drops are mixed into Akua Liquid Pigments. Secondly, it also extends the working time of Akua Liquid Pigments. It is a clear liquid, and cleans up easily with water. This medium can only be used with Akua Liquid Pigments.* Pigment Tack Thickener - This medium thickens Akua Liquid Pigment for heavier roll-up applications. It's consistency is not as thick as Transparent Base or Akua Intaglio ink. It is medium amber in color, has a thick consistency, and cleans up easily with soapy water. This medium can only be used with Akua Liquid Pigments.* Release Agent - This medium has three purposes. First, it is required to release Akua Liquid Pigment brushwork from plate to paper when hand-printing monotypes with the Pin Press. Second, it is used for making ghost prints. A ghost print is the second print from a monotype plate that has been inked only one time. It is a lighter version of the same image. By rolling Release Agent over the plate, it helps to transfer the remaining ink off the plate and onto another sheet of paper. Third, it helps soften the metallic ink so it can easily transfer off the plate and onto the paper. Roll Akua Release Agent over the metallic ink that was applied to the plate. It looks white in the jar but rolls up clear and colorless. It has a soft, buttery consistency and cleans up easily with liquid dish detergent. This medium can be used with Akua Intaglio Inks and Akua Liquid Pigments.* Transparent Base - This medium is Akua Intaglio Ink without the pigment. Adding Akua Liquid Pigment to Transparent Base will thicken Akua Liquid Pigment and create new intaglio or relief colors. Adding Akua Intaglio ink to this base will increase ink transparency. It is a light amber in color and has a thick consistency. This medium can be used with Akua Intaglio Inks and Akua Liquid Pigments. See More

Liquitex Acrylic Mediums are made from 100% acrylic polymer emulsion and produce strong films when dry. When added to acrylic paint, they modify the paint handling characteristics, appearance or volume to produce an infinite variety of effects. Liquitex Gel Mediums can add texture, enhance color and increase transparency within your work. Gels also add "open time" as they tend to dry slower than thinner paint films. These mediums also modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and, since they contain acrylic resins, tend to improve adhesion and durability. Modeling Pastes are thick acrylic gel blended with marble dust for a strong durable, opaque texture. Key Features: * 100% acrylic polymer emulsion * Add texture, enhance color * Increase transparency * Variety of effects * Perfect For: * Modifying paint handling characteristics * Extending heavy body paint * Impasto, relief, or sculptural effects. * Adhesion and durability Flexible Modeling Paste - Matte, opaque preparation of marble dust and polymer emulsion. Use on a flexible surface for heavy textures and 3D forms. Gloss Gel - This heavy body gloss medium and extender makes acrylic colors more transparent. Heavy Gel (Gloss) - Gives acrylic colors a high degree of drag and density. Great for impasto techniques and glazes. Light Modeling Paste - Putty-like compound that can be shaped while wet or carved when dry. Will not crack or chip. Non-toxic. Matte Gel - Reduces gloss of acrylic colors. Also used as a matte collage adhesive. Super Heavy Gel (Gloss) - Add to acrylic colors to form a sculptural, high-peak consistency. Dries clear with very low shrinkage. Great for collage and mixed media. Super Heavy Gel (Matte)- A super thick gel which retains high-peaks and crisp brush and knife strokes with little shrinkage. Modeling Paste - Putty-like compound that can be shaped while wet and carved when dry. Slow-Dri Blending Gel - This fluid medium will increase the open working time of your acrylics by up to 40%. Dries clear to a flexible, non-yellowing and water-resistant film that will not change the viscosity of your color. Ultra Matte Gel - Use to extend paint up to double amounts without changing color. Dries to a matte finish while maintaining color opacity. AP non-toxic. Liquitex Satin Gel Medium- is made of a 100% acrylic polymer emulsion and creates a durable, flexible film resistant to abrasion once dry. When added to acrylic paint, the satin gel increases texture and extends volume with a satin finish. You can also use the gel medium as a strong adhesive. Silkscreen Medium- You can transform acrylic paint into slow-drying silkscreen ink with Liquitex Silkscreen Medium. The medium changes the thickness of water-based acrylic paints by increasing fluidity so you can use them for silkscreening and mono-printing. This acrylic medium increases paint volume and drying time but doesn't affect paint color or opacity. Extended drying time lets you position ink to create the exact printed fabric designs you want.
