AlumaComp Aluminum, 10"x10" Archival Painting & Mounting PanelSave Up to78%Off listSilver 100% Archival / Unprimed Aluminum Boards - Acid Free- Adds Value to Your Artwork 100% Archival Boards - Acid Free- Adds Value to Your Artwork Great for Plein Air Painting - Painting on metal panels has been historically recorded since before the times of Rembrandt, who painted many of his great masterpieces on copper. In the last 20 years, professional artists have been moving towards working on aluminum composite panels (ACP), which feature lighter weights and stronger construction. AlumaComp is widely used for mounting fine art, photographs, linen and canvas to create an incredibly stable painting panel, or to use on its own as a reliable, archival painting support. The brushed aluminum surface takes primer beautifully, providing texture that grips the primer for a perfect bond. The smooth aluminum surface can be used as is to take advantage of its' beautiful finish, or custom sanded or polished for any texture necessary for your artistic applications. When used as a painting panel, the smooth side can be used as the work’s actual highlights for a modern look— either left bare as is, or sanded/buffed back to the bare metal before varnishing to take advantage of the metallic glow. Simply peel the screened film used to protect both sides, and let your creativity do the rest. His paintings are a declaration to the dramatic power of representational art. The origin of his inspiration does not lie in academia, but rather his childhood, surrounded by the vivid paintings he saw in Gothic cathedrals as a child. Eric doesn’t aspire to simply paint a figure; he paints a moment, a human experience, and an emotional dialogue that transcends culture, religion and time itself. See More

R&F Pigment Sticks Set of 6 - Translucent ColorsSave Up to28%Off listAssorted Colors Professional quality oil paints in stick form R&F Pigment Sticks are oil paints manufactured with enough wax for the paint to be molded into stick form. Pigment Sticks allow the artist to draw or paint directly onto a surface without brushes, palettes, paint tubes, or solvents. Blending only finely milled pigments, natural wax (beeswax & plant wax), and alkali refined linseed oil, R&F Pigment Sticks have none of the additives, extenders, and substitutes that traditional tube oils contain. While the use of these adulterations can save a lot of work and reduce the cost of materials, they lower the quality of the paint. Consequently, the formulas are complex, and manufacturing is labor intensive and thus handmade in small batches where they are carefully milled and molded. The result is a professional quality oil Pigment Stick with a buttery, lipstick-like soft consistency that glides onto the painting surface. Paint Sticks can be thinned with traditional solvents, mixed with or used under or over traditional oils, or worked with a palette knife to a softer consistency to allow brushing onto a surface. Curing to a durable film like standard oils, Pigment Sticks can also be used with Encaustic paints for a variety of effects. Blending sticks are offered in two types and are colorless sticks that can be worked into a Pigment Stick color to increase transparency or blend colors together on the painting. Like with traditional oils, R&F Pigment Sticks should be used on primed surfaces that are oil or acrylic gesso primed to protect the surface from the natural acid in linseed oil. What is the difference between R&F Pigment Sticks and Oil Pastels? Although both are made with pigments, waxes, and oils, they are completely different! Oil pastels typically contain a much higher wax content than an oil stick or bar and are manufactured with a non-drying oil such as mineral oil or castor oil. Works done in Pigment Stick will oxidize (dry) over time like traditional oil paints, whereas oil pastels will always remain tacky and never dry, thus needing the protection of glass to protect the finished work. Explore the versatility and loosely gestural qualities this medium has to offer, with professional quality Pigment Sticks from R&F! Key Features: * Made solely of pigment, pure alkali refined linseed oil, and purified plant and bees waxes * Lipstick-like, soft creamy consistency * Contains no additives, extenders, or substitutes like tube oils * 2 types of Blending sticks for colorless blending * Works on any surface primed for traditional oils * Perfect For: * Use with traditional oils and encaustic paints * Gestural drawing with oils in stick form * Immediacy of paint without the need for brushes or tools * Thinning with solvents and oil mediums See More

Yes! All Media 11oz Cotton Canvas Roll 84" x 6 YardsSave Up to70%Off listWhite The canvas that accepts any media! We do not know where art will lead you. You may want to start with watercolor and gouache, reworking or removing areas then finishing off with permanent acrylics. With Yes! You can! Yes! Mixed-Media Canvas accepts watercolors, oils, acrylics, casein, permanent markers, alkyds, shellac, acrylic-based inks, airbrush, egg tempera, or any other media of your choice. It uses only the finest closed weaved cotton that is triple-primed to a super smooth surface. A versatile canvas that will accept any paint, ink, or marker you have in your studio. Perfect for portrait artists and realistic technique artists. A unique twist to this canvas is that you can draw with a permanent marker and use the lines to form a resist for your watercolors without feathering or smudging. Similar to the resists used for silk painting, you can paint on top of the drawing. For traditional watercolor painting, the color sits on the surface, allowing for easy lifting, scratching, and reworking the painted surface and even layering for unique effects using opaque or transparent colors. This surface is fantastic with virtually any acrylic-based paint, from heavy-body acrylics to acrylic-based inks to airbrush colors. Key Features: * 11oz weight, 100% unbleached cotton * Portrait smooth, fine weave surface * Triple-primed with acid-free special wet media primer * Perfect For: * Accepts all media! * Watercolors, Water-based inks, Airbrush colors * Acrylics, Markers, Acrylic inks * Oil, Shellac, and Alkyds The Portrait Cotton - Portrait artists and super realistic technique artists craved for a surface that was plate smooth but also affordable. Yes, is plate smooth using only the finest close weaved cotton and primed three times to a super smooth surface. So smooth you can easily draw on it. But here's the twist you can also paint on it with any media! The priming is the key. Imagine a canvas so versatile that it will accept any paint, ink or marker you have in your studio. Imagine the possibilities. The Watercolor Surface - Many watercolorists draw with permanent marker as they create their watercolors. With this surface you can draw right into your watercolor without feathering or smudging or you can paint on top of the drawing. A unique twist to this canvas is that you can draw with permanent marker and use the lines to form a resist for your watercolors. This is very similar to resists used for silk painting. It is quite amazing and interesting. For traditional watercolor painting the color sits right up on the surface and allows for easy lifting, scratching into the paint film, reworking the painted surface and even layering for unique effects. Use with opaque or transparent colors. This canvas works best with tube watercolor and provides rich, vibrant expressions. Acrylics and Watercolors - We don't know where art will lead you but you may want to start off playing with watercolors and gouache reworking or even removing areas then fine tuning and finally finishing off the top layers with permanent acrylics. Of course you don't need to use watercolors with your acrylics but you can if you want. You'll find this surface to be fantastic with virtually any acrylic based paint from heavy body to acrylic based inks to airbrush colors. Before applying watercolor, we suggest that you clean the canvas thoroughly with high-strength Isopropyl alcohol to remove any hand-oils from the canvas. Surface oils may have accumulated from manufacturing, packaging, or unwrapping the canvas. Cleaning the canvas should prevent the paint from beading up on the surface. See More

Famously, cyanotype was used by Ana Atkins and other field biologists for indexing plant specimens with what were called photograms at the time. The Cyanotype process is incredibly simple and only employs two inexpensive chemicals and UV sunlight. Prints can be created on any natural fiber: paper, cotton, silk, wool, wood, etc. Jacquard has made Cyanotype printing easy as pie with pre-sensitized fabric that is ready for cyanotype printing. Simply pull the sheet out of the package, place objects or an inverted photographic negative on top, expose to light for three to fifteen minutes, submerge the fabric in water to reveal the blue cyanotype print, and finally hang the fabric to line dry. With Jacquard’s Cyanotype Pretreated Mural Fabric you can actually create a full-body print by laying on top of the mural fabric for the duration of exposure while not moving. The creative possibilities for Photographers, Mixed Media Artists, and Quilters are endless! If you would prefer to use your own papers or fabric Jacquard has made the chemistry of Cyanotype attainable with lightproof black bottles of Potassium Ferricyanide and Ferric Ammonium Citrate. The chemicals used for cyanotype are inexpensive and go a long way. Despite their perhaps alarming names, both are safe to handle and mix. That said, care should be taken to avoid ingestion, inhalation, and contact with skin. The instructions for the use of Potassium Ferricyanide and Ferric Ammonium Citrate are included in the link bellow Great for photographers, mixed media artists, printmakers, quilters, kids and more, the cyanotype process is easy, forgiving, quick, magical and fun. Capture the nuance of every shadow Key Features: * Harness the power of the sun to make detailed prints * Simply place the object on the sensitized surface and expose to sunlight (UV) * Sun exposure time is 3-15 minutes * Pre-sensitized Cyanotype fabric Perfect For: * Quilters and Surface Design Artists * Photographers * Mixed media artists, printmakers, quilters See More

Centurion Deluxe Oil Primed 10"x10" Linen Panel, 3 PackSave Up to84%Off listWhite Master Quality Archival Deluxe Linen Panels! Superb performance and color retention! Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming As an oil colorist it is important to work on oil primed surfaces and not universal primed surfaces. The reason is that universal primed surfaces are semi-absorbent. Gesso is absorbent even if it is plate smooth. The paint does not get absorbed as much and sits on the surface more making it easy to blend and manipulate. Granted it is not highly absorbent but the fact remains that some oil will get into the primer and flatten the image. You can get around this by using an under-painting oil ground on top of the surface of a universal ground canvas but this is very time consuming and expensive. Unlike universal ground, our oil priming chemically bonds with the oil paint and is non-absorbent allowing the paint to sit up on the surface with the correct refraction quality of the oil binder. If you use any high-quality oil color we urge you to use an oil primed surface and now we make it affordable! Exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming! Centurion Deluxe Professional Oil Primed Linen Panels, specifically designed for oil painters. Superb receptive surface accepts even the thinnest oil color lay down without fragmenting on the surface and is a permanent surface as colors adhere better on it than any other oil primed canvas on the market today! Acid-free and archival, the primed medium-textured linen is cleanly wrapped and adhered to a solid 3mm MDF wood board. Key Features:* Acid-free, Archival Linen Panels* 11oz. Oil Primed* Made of medium weight linen* Exclusive OP enhanced oil priming* Mounted on 3mm (1/8") MDF wood board* Medium weight and texture* Non warping Perfect For:* Artists of all skill levels* Oil and Alkyd Painting* Archival Longevity* Linen Lovers expecting the best!* Professional Artists, Commissioned work* Traveling, takes up 1/4 the space of a 3/4" canvas For a good value on a smooth linen panel, this is it! R&F Handmade Paints - Encaustic Medium (Pellets), 1lb BagSave Up to20%Off list…traditional gesso mix of rabbit skin glue and chalk. Specially formulated for encaustic painting, with a lower proportion of acrylic binder to solids, making it a more absorbent and receptive surface for wax-based paints. A quick and easy brushable white gesso. Specially formulated white ground for… Fine handmade mediums for encaustic painting! The ancient art of encaustic painting is brought into the 21st century with this excellent collection of handmade encaustic grounds, mediums, and raw materials from R&F! Enhance your encaustic paintings or make your own mediums to your specifications with this selection of fantastic ingredients. * Encaustic Gesso - This water-based ground is a modern version of the traditional gesso mix of rabbit skin glue and chalk. Specially formulated for encaustic painting, with a lower proportion of acrylic binder to solids, making it a more absorbent and receptive surface for wax-based paints. A quick and easy brushable white gesso. Specially formulated white ground for encaustics. * Encaustic Medium - Perhaps the most essential encaustic supply, Encaustic Medium is a blend of beeswax and damar resin, and is used to increase transparency and extend encaustic paints. It is important to use Encaustic Medium with your paints, as using only beeswax will reduce stability and produce a bloom on the painting that is only removable with heat. Available in either block or pellet form. Increases transparency and extends encaustic paints. * Impasto Modeling Wax - This heavy body wax medium is made from a mix of microcrystalline wax and beeswax. It is excellent for thick structural application, casting, carving, layering, and modeling. As Impasto Wax has a higher melting point than Encaustic Medium, you can apply standard encaustics over it without easily blunting sculptural shapes. Use for thick encaustic paint application and sculptural styles. * Damar Resin Crystals - A hard, clear resin from deciduous trees, Damar Resin Crystals are used to create encaustic mediums and paints. When mixed with beeswax, damar resin creates an encaustic binder that is stronger and more durable than beeswax alone, and also serves to raise the melting point of the wax. Damar is also used to create traditional oil painting mediums and varnishes. * White Beeswax (Pellets) - This natural beeswax has been whitened by mechanical filtration, instead of standard chemical bleaching, which can lead to negative pigment reactions and break wax down. Use White Beeswax as an ingredient in creating encaustic mediums and paints, along with Damar Resin, or as an initial priming layer for paper or board. Note that beeswax used alone in encaustics (without damar) is not as stable and is apt to bloom (become foggy). Use with damar resin to create encaustic paints and mediums. * Soy Wax (Pellets) - Made from partially hydrogenated soybean oil, Soy Wax is an environmentally friendly choice for cleaning encaustic brushes and tools. Unlike paraffin wax, which is made from petroleum products, Soy Wax is non-toxic, biodegradable, and made from an easily renewable resource. Use melted Soy Wax to remove color from painting materials, then wash tools or brushes in soapy water. Eco-friendly cleaning wax. See More

Jacquard Dye Additive Urea 1 lb BagSave Up to10%Off list…Painting, stamping, or screen printing * Tie-dye, shibori, and ice dyeing * Low water immersion dyeing * Batik, printing, and direct painting * Direct painting or printing applications * Surface design Sodium Alginate SH: Sodium Alginate SH is a seaweed derivative used to thicken dyes for painting,… Essential chemicals for the dyeing process! Jacquard offers several necessary chemicals that complement their Acid and Procion MX dyes. Sodium Alginate SH is used to thicken dyes for painting, stamping, or screen printing. Citric Acid is a mild, odorless, powdered acid that helps fix acid dyes to protein-based fibers. Soda Ash promotes the chemical reaction between Procion MX fiber reactive dyes and cellulose fiber. The humectant Urea attracts moisture from the air and slows the tie-dye process, providing more time for the dye to process and generate deeper shades. You can use Synthrapol® an industrial-strength, pH-neutral liquid detergent as a wetting agent, or wash your decorated fabrics with it. It is essential to practice studio safety when using dyes and chemicals. Please keep dyes, paints, and chemicals away from children and avoid unnecessary skin contact. Key Features: * Powdered chemicals * Complement Acid and Procion MX dyes * Sodium Alginate SH will thicken dyes * Citric Acid is used to fix acid dye * Soda Ash is used to fix Procion MX dye * Urea enhances Procion MX colors * pH-neutral detergent and wetting agent Perfect For: * Fabric dyeing * Painting, stamping, or screen printing * Tie-dye, shibori, and ice dyeing * Low water immersion dyeing * Batik, printing, and direct painting * Direct painting or printing applications * Surface design Sodium Alginate SH: Sodium Alginate SH is a seaweed derivative used to thicken dyes for painting, stamping, or screen printing. When working with thicker fabrics, use a thinner consistency of dye solution to guarantee dye penetration. Instructions: Mix 1 quart water with ¼ cup Urea. Then, add two teaspoons Sodium Alginate SH for hand painting or four teaspoons Sodium Alginate SH for screen printing. Slowly sprinkle Sodium Alginate SH over water/Urea mix. Stir constantly for 10 minutes, or mix in a blender until smooth. Let stand for 1 hour, then stir again. The solution may be stored in a refrigerator for a few months. Soda Ash: Soda Ash dye fixer is a mild alkali that promotes the chemical reaction between Procion MX fiber reactive dyes and cellulose fiber. It is also known as sodium carbonate, washing soda, or salt soda. Soda Ash is necessary to activate and set Procion MX dye. For tie-dye (pre-soak method): Use one cup per gallon of warm water. Soak fabric in the mixture for 20 minutes. Squeeze/wring out the excess solution by hand. Do not rinse out. For immersion dyeing: Use 1/4 to 1/3 cup per three gallons of water. Add to dye bath per instructions. Dyeing cellulose fibers in a washing machine: Use 2-3 cups per load. Dissolve in one-quart hot water. Slowly add to dye bath in washer per instructions. Synthrapol®: Synthrapol® is an industrial-strength, pH-neutral liquid detergent used as a pre and after wash for dyed or painted fabrics. Synthrapol® can also be used as a wetting agent for fabric dyes and paints. The unique liquid detergent keeps loose dye pigment suspended during washing which prevents back staining and helps remove excess color. Pre wash: Prewashing fabric with Synthrapol® to remove oils, waxes, starches, and sizings helps ensure an even dye job and reduces the risk of blotchy color. Directions: Add three tablespoons Synthrapol® per 8 lb washing load. For cotton and other cellulose fibers, add two tablespoons soda ash. Wash for at least 10 minutes using hot water, and then rinse thoroughly. After wash: After dyeing or painting, rinse the fabric in cold water and then wash for at least 10 minutes using three tablespoons Synthrapol® per 8 lb wash load. Use hot water for cotton, cool to warm water for silk and wool, and then rinse thoroughly in cold water. Wetting Agent: Adding Synthrapol® to a dye bath or fabric paint can increase color penetration. When dyeing wool and other hard-to-wet fibers, add 2 to 3 drops of Synthrapol® per 5 lb fabric. To increase fabric paint coverage on hard-to-wet textiles, add 1 to 2 drops Synthrapol® per 2 fl oz of fabric paint. Citric Acid: Citric Acid is a mild, odorless, powdered acid that helps fix acid dyes and exhaust dye baths. Add one tablespoon of Citric Acid to the dye bath per 1 lb of fabric. Do not pour directly onto cloth. If further exhaustion of dye bath is necessary, add a little bit more. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Keep out of reach of children. Urea: Urea is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air and slows the drying process; therefore, it allows more time for the dye to react with the fiber and helps develop deeper shades. Most artists use Urea when applying dye solutions directly to fabric or hand painting. Urea can be used with Sodium Alginate thickener for screen printing, direct painting, or tie-dye. Add one tablespoon Urea per 8 fl oz of dye solution (¼ cup per one quart of dye solution). See More

Each yard of Centurion linen is coated in a non-absorbent oil primer that chemically bonds with the paint. The primer allows your paint to sit on top of the canvas and cure with the correct amount of refraction. Thinned oils and glazes do not fragment or separate on the highly receptive surface. Oils adhere better on Centurion OP canvas than any other oil-primed canvas on the market today! You can stretch the linen on stretcher bars or mount it to a wall. Centurion's new colossal 30-yard roll is sensational for painting large-scale murals. Use our new 30-yard roll size to create large-scale murals. Key Features: * Medium 11 oz. weight linen canvas * Non-absorbent, enhanced oil primer allows for brilliant results * Excellent color retention * Archival long-lasting quality * As the oils cure, they chemically bond to the canvas * Perfect For: * Oil painters * All general painting techniques * Commissioned work * Ensuring that your work will last hundreds of years * Stretching on bars or mounting to a wall as a mural See More
