The ready-to-paint surface is like a gessoed canvas in texture, appearance and absorbency, giving artists the familiar feel of a fine linen or canvas with the additional advantage of painting on a rigid surface. The durable, rigid, medium density fiberboard (MDF) support makes the Primed Canvas Texture panel ideal for palette-knife painting and multimedia applications.

These wood panels will not give, bend or flex

As with all of Ampersand’s panels, they are made with quality materials that have been tested for durability and for performance with artists’ paints.

Panels are available in three distinct profiles - 3/8" flat and 3/4" or 1-1/2" cradled.

3/8" Flat Profile With Hanging Slot - The 3/8" flat profile panels come with built in hanging slots for an easy and affordable way to display your finished art. The cradle support frames are handcrafted using 1/2" birch plywood, offering extreme stability and support.

Traditional Profile With 3/4" Cradle - This profile can be hung on a wall or placed into a traditional frame similar to a traditional canvas. The frame is made with light colored birch plywood.

Gallery Profile With 1-1/2" Cradle - This profile mirrors a gallery profile canvas. The frame is made with light colored birch plywood  that can be painted or stained, providing artists with a ready-to-hang surface.
