There is a small black O-Ring between the spray cap and the can. Removing this O-Ring allows you to start painting. The O-Ring is a safety precaution to make sure the can won't spray with it on. To remove the O-Ring and start painting simply remove the spray cap and turn the can upside down. If the O-Ring does not fall off on its own you can use something small to pop it off. Make sure you check to see if the O-Ring is on the can before assuming that the spray can is defective and unable to spray.

Montana Tech Spray, Styrofoam Primer - 400ml Can is a great application on different surfaces that need to be pre-treated such as plastic, metal, and styrofoam. The Universal Primer also works on leather, cardboard, wood, styrofoam, and many other materials. Montana PRIMER sprays enable excellent adhesion and further coating of synthetic, nitro-combi, or acrylic spray paints. Use primers for efficient and more permanent results and more important to add longevity to your end project. Easy to apply, easy to sand, and easy to re-coat. With a drying time of 24-48 hours (depending on the substrate), further coatings can be applied to reach all your practical, functional, or aesthetic needs.
