W & N Artisan Water Mixable Oil Introduction Set of 20, 12ml TubesSave Up to40%Off listAssorted Colors Who Says Oil and Water Don't Mix! Designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint Just because oil and water don't mix in your kitchen doesn't mean there aren't other methods to make them happy in each other's company. A most effective route is through the addition of a chemical emulsifier that has an attraction on one side of the molecule for water and, on the other, for oil. The result? A happy match made, if not in heaven, at least in the laboratory. Mix with Water - Artisan provides all the characteristics expected from conventional oil color: High pigment strength, a high proportion of single pigments, and variable opacity. The key difference is their ability to be mixed with water even though they are made with traditional oil binders. Chemical analysis has indicated that any added water fully leaves the paint film within a short time; no water remains "trapped" to weaken or loosen the color on the canvas. Drying Time- The water evaporates out of the paint film fairly rapidly leaving behind a conventional oil color that dries by oxidation, as normal. Adhesion and drying time have been shown to be comparable to conventional oil color. Research has also shown that the dried Artisan film is similar to a conventional oil film in solvent resistance, yet remains slightly softer than conventional colors, offering increased flexibility, which is a very good thing. Your canvas can flex with changes in temperature and humidity; a paint film that will go along with it will better resist cracking or lifting. Key Features: * 40 vibrant tones * Designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint * Thick, buttery consistency * All colors are touch dry in 2-12 days * Clean up is easy with just soap and water! * High pigment strength and variable opacity * Mix with water and avoid hazardous solvents * Made from modified linseed and safflower oils * Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colors - These magnificent paints are designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint, but they're a bit special. You can use them without hazardous solvents - they're happy being thinned down and cleaned up with water. They're especially good for artists who share a workspace or don't want solvents in school or at home. Pump the marker up and down slowly to speed up the process. You can use the marker on newly cleaned surfaces. After use, make sure the cap is on tight to prevent the marker from drying out. Let the object dry for 24 hours, and then place it in a cold oven. Once the temperature has reached 302°F, bake for 35 minutes. Before each use, you can shake the ball inside the barrel to prime the marker. Thanks to its fast-drying time, you can layer dark colors over light colors or even bright colors over dark colors. The ball inside the barrel of the POSCA markers ensures that when shaken, the paint is evenly mixed. The valve mechanism provides a tight paint seal that prevents the paint from drying out. After use, you can rinse the pen tips under water. Permanent on porous surfaces and erasable on most smooth non-porous materials, your creations can be protected with a fixative varnish. Use POSCA Paint Markers on a variety of surfaces, including wood, fabrics, glass, ceramic, plastic, metals, stones, papers, cardboard, and canvas. Key Features: * Water-soluble Paint Markers * Non-toxic, alcohol-free, lightfast acrylic * Valve mechanism provides tight paint seal * Ball in barrel primes marker * The medium tip is reversible * Quick-drying matte opaque colors * Stable pigments * Permanent on porous surfaces * Erasable on most non-porous materials * Perfect For: * Multiple art projects * Blending and layering colors * Creating infinite gradations of color * Use on a variety of different surfaces * Indoor and outdoor use * Bright compositions * Drawing smooth, consistent lines * Wood, fabrics, glass, ceramic, plastic * Metals, stones, papers, cardboard, and canvas Glass, Plastic, and Metal: Clean the surface with a cloth and ensure it is dry before starting work. Make artwork permanent by applying two coats of water-based spray varnish. Hold the can about 30 cm from the surface and spray in slow circular movements. The varnish can be matte or gloss depending on the look you want. (Not suitable for food use) Fabric: Machine-wash the fabric you plan to draw on to remove any industrial coatings or dirt. To prepare natural or artificial leather, wipe with a damp sponge and leave to dry. Once your creation is finished and dry, you can iron it from the reverse side without using steam. Set the temperature of the iron to the material setting for the fabric you are ironing. You can place a sheet of tracing paper between the iron and the fabric for extra protection. If the fabric used is not suitable for ironing, you can fix your creation with a hairdryer. Hold it 30 cm from the surface and make small circular movements. Ceramic: With treated ceramics, fix your creation, for non-food use, using a water-based spray varnish, spraying from about 30 cm in small circular movements. With rough ceramics, fire your creation in the oven. Heat the ceramic in the oven slowly to 220°, then turn off the oven and allow it to cool completely before taking it out. Fix the paint on porcelain in the same way, but to a temperature of 160° and for no more than 45 minutes. To give your creation the longest possible life (for non-food use), you can apply a water-based varnish or adhesive varnish. Afterward, you can only hand wash the ceramic in cold water. See More
