Michael's acrylic primer does not absorb oil; instead, the paint sits on top of the surface. The primer is made with non-toxic, non-absorbing acrylic resin; that's why it produces such a strong, flexible ground. You can apply Michael Harding's Non-Absorbent Acrylic Primer to linen, cotton canvas, wood, and MDF. Mixing: Pigments, oil, generally poppyseed oil, and specific ingredients are pre-mixed according to their particular nature to achieve the best paste for milling. Grounding: The paste is ground on a three roll mill made of stone rolls, to preserve the purity of paints, rotating at low speed to avoid heating.
