If dirty, the varnish can be removed with Artisan Varnish Remover. Stand Oil - This highly durable linseed oil is partly polymerized by being heated in the absence of oxygen. This stand oil joins the molecules together, leaving less space for oxygen and hence a longer drying time. Thinner - Although water is suitable as a diluent for the color, its speedy evaporation can make the color thicken upon the palette much quicker than conventional oil color would when used with turpentine.
